    Multiplayer Shooter game

Years ago I had rented Red Faction for the PS2 and my brother and I had a blast playing against each other in some of the multiplayer environments. The LOBBY with two balconies and a lower level full of pillars (almost like the Matrix) for destroying your opponent and up to six CPU robots was a blast. The first to 15 kills wins. It was mainly action with no real stealth involved and was a great game. I saw this game used for $10 at EB and am probably going to pick it up. My brother has already hinted at breaking "Rude Killer" out of retirement (how un-brother like to name his character that).

Before I pick it up, does anyone have any other cheap, multiplayer game suggestions that might be better? Red Faction II was released two years later and I have no clue how much different it is. I thought of picking up X-Men Legends I or II on the PS2. I have zero interest in single player campaign modes. It would only be for multi-player against one another or maybe a co-op mode to play on brotherly visits. Anyone else like this game? It was released in 2001.

Edit: I read Killzone might be OK but it got pretty crappy reviews. Again, I really only care about some quick multi-player action.

I didnt like red faction 2 compared to the 1st one. It took to much ammo to kill someone, like dual wielding uzis one full clip each to kill a bot! I dont think the xmen multiplayer games are quite the same as a FPS. I do recommend Killzone ( im taking it no "next gen " titles) it has a "hit it-n-quit it" multiplayer that your looking for, also look for a game called Freedom Fighters...I think that game has co-op and is a total blast!

      I'm almost not joking.

Otherwise you could probably find Agent Under Fire or Nightfire for less than $10 somewhere.

There's one game that I'm thinking of and will be stuck in my head until I figure it out for you... but it's part of a series of games that was on the PS2. I believe it was Quake? Quake 3 (if that's a real game) was pretty okay multiplayer.

Thanks for the advice. I think Time Splitters 2 sounds good and cheap as well since it came out in 2002. Perfect for the occassion battle royale.
