Dumb Question? Connecting 360 to PC

I just opened my Xbox 360 yesterday. The system did a couple updates and I made a Gamer Profile which my friend used ot play some games. I decided that I wanted to redo the updates and start my Gamer profile over so that it included only MY game stats. I thought if I reformatted the 360 hard drive then I could have the system back to the way it was when I first opened it, and then I would be able to redo those updates. I didn't knwo some of the files that came on the hard drive from the store were deletable. I thoguht they were all untouchable and part of the system.

So, I did the reformat and found out not only were the updates not undone, but most of the Gamer Pics were deleted. Even though they aren't a huge deal in pragmatic terms, I'd like to get those back. So, I'm thinking I can get those pictures from a friend's xbox.

Is there any way to connect Xbox's and transfer files between them, other than using a memory card?

Can a computer be used? Since I know for a fact gamers make sports rosters, post them on forums, and download them onto their systems, I know it's possible to hook up an Xbox 360 to a computer, as well as transfer files to a computer and then to a 360. So, how do I go about doing this?

Also, could anyone tell me what content came on their 360 HD? I know most of the gamer pics were included under Pictures, while some are untouchable. Were there any songs or videos included, or anything else?

Yes but using media connect only allows transfer of ...well media, like pictures, songs, what you are asking for cannot be done in that particular fashion. Perhaps someone else knows a workaround but I do not.

Here is how to connect them up

As for rosters you need to buy the transfer kit which is at best buy for like $29

Using media connect only lets you view pics, music or videos on your TV (or whatever you have the 360 hooked up too). It won't however let you actually save or transfer any of that content onto the 360 HDD.

The closest you can get to saving a pic onto the 360 HDD is to set a pic from the PC as the background for the dashboard.

I think the media sharing between the 360 and PC is great (I love the slideshows and streaming HDWMV content) but it unfortunately won't do what you are looking for. Sorry man.
