I need help!!!(gears of war question)

hey all,
I just got the game Gears of War. I suck at FPS, this is the first one I have ever played(no, i am not 12 just always been a sports guy). Anyway, I'm to the part where you have to kill the "Seekers"(I think that's what they are called, maybe seeders) in the first act. I picked up some frag grenades and realized I must of swapped for my main gun(the one with the chainsaw). Now, I can't find it anywhere, and all I have is a shotgun, pistol, and two frag grenades in my four slots for weapons. Does anyone know if there is one located somewhere in the level so I can get it back? I love that gun and its automatic. Someone help!

I think when you start a new level they start you with that gun again. I did that too by accident, but I ended up getting it back from somewhere....

chainsaw guns will become more common in the later acts... even some of the Locusts will wield them.
