new xbox 360?
just got my 360 back from repair, well actually not "my" 360. I received an xbox that appeared to be new ie tape of drive front and no scuffs abrasions, etc. Man date is 04262006. Is this a new console that has been in a warehouse for awhile or what? Refurbished? If so, does that mean that I got somebody else's console essentially? Sorry if there was already a thread for this. Anyone have any idea how Microsoft is handling these repairs? Thanks.my life is over either the 4th or 18th!Tags: None -
Re: new xbox 360?
You should of recieved a note stating whether or not it was a refurbished unit, or new unit. I've always gotten refurbished units from MS. After my last 360 died, I sold the refurb, and went to GameStop and got the warranty through them. Got tired of getting someone else's broken 360 that'd be repaired. -

Wow, you say that like you have had many systems die on you. I believe the exact term on the letter to me was that I received a "replacement unit" so that I could get back into the game. I just received it today and it looks new and no problems so far but I guess the real test is when I put some miles on the system. Thanks any other comments. What does a "replacement unit" mean exactly? It could mean new or refurbished I guess.my life is over either the 4th or 18th!Comment

I finally went with GameStops return policy, and ended up with a 360 with a born date of 8-30-2006. And zero problems so far. And in a year, if I feel like it. I can return it for a brand new 360, and pay the $49 for another warranty.Comment
