I just saw a skid of PS3's
So the gears started grinding about thousands of dollars of profit. These were 60GB systems with an extra controller and a Tenji game for $699. I was going to buy a few, but on ebay I am noticing some are going for $2000 and others are at $500 with 1 minute left. What's the deal with the price gap on these things?Chalepa Ta Kala.....Tags: None -

Yes, I would stay away from the 20gb, no money in those. Last week there were 2400 20gb's on ebay and today they are down to around 920.Comment

Re: I just saw a skid of PS3's
From what I've seen, the only ones selling over retail are bundles with extra controllers, games, or other hot toys. Plain systems are actually selling at 750-800 which after taxes and shipping is really not much profit for the seller after a month of listing fees..and those are the lucky ones. Some are selling at 500-600 which represent a loss for the seller.
Like Bryan said...day one was the peak day. Presells and sales up to a week later did OK too, but only the folks who sold them on launchday morning made a killing.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Plus it didn't help that ebay was saturated with PS3's.Comment

Re: I just saw a skid of PS3's
I sold mine today for $635, EXACTLY, what I paid for it. Oh well, you live and learn. I broke even at least because I get free shipping at work. I should have sold it earlier. But when I was at Target on Monday and I overheard an employee say they sold out of the 20gb but had 15 60gb in stock I knew I was in trouble.Comment

I wonder why they didn't do all this garbage when the 360 came out. I'm laughing in my mind so hard because I was thinking about buying a couple and making a profit. I didn't have any money but I had faith that I'd make it back. Good thing I paid for school instead......like I had a choice. Hey Candy, my birthday passed.
