What to do PS3 or 360?

Just wondering what everyones opinion is, should I go PS3 or 360?

1. I primarily play sports (Football/Baseball/some Basketball)
2. I prefer 2k over EA
3. Would continue to play 2k5 football unless they make a new one
4. I think MLB The Show 06 is the best baseball out there

Considering I can get $100 rebate for a 360 and I am anticipating MLB2k7 to be a good game would everyone pick up 360 now? should I wait for the newer 360's in the summer? or should I wait until April for a PS3 and The Show 07?

What a loaded question. If you're a diehard MLB The Show fan then get a PS3.
Otherwise get a 360. It's cheaper, has more of a selection (right now) and has the same graphics as the PS3. Plus Xbox Live is a smooth running online engine.

If you can wait, then I'd do that too. If you're really into baseball games you'd probably want to wait and see how the games stack up.
The main reason I got a 360 was for NHL07 and I haven't looked back. I play that game 80% of the time so it was worth it.
If you're going to be spending a lot of your time on baseball then maybe the PS3 would be best for The Show 07.

But like I said, if you can wait out, do that. The PS3 might come down in price, and the next generation boxes won't have as many hardware problems by then (all new consoles go through this). And the 360 could be possibly cheaper by then too.

All I know is, I love my 360! I've been playing NHL07, GoW, Hitman: Blood Money and Rainbow Six:Vegas. All those games are sweet. Especially RB6:Vegas online.

Being an owner of both consoles, it all depends which exclusives you like better......Sony or MS. Sony is also starting to lose exclusives to the 360 via multiplatform games.

MLB'07:Show should be good, but we won't know until vids start showing up on the net and even then until someone plays a build will be something to see.

2KSports games are the same on both the PS3 and 360, no real advancement except for 1080p resolution.

Money's right that's a pretty loaded question. Based on your criteria your choice would have to be the PS3.

If I were you I would wait to hear feedback from the baseball games since that's what you are most interested in. I however think the 360 is the best bet for the money. The 360 has established games and a load of them cheap at various places. If you can't wait go with the 360 for a year until you see what the ps3 comes out with in their 2nd wave games. Then make a decision and if you decide Ps3 at that time sell your 360 on ebay. I garuntee you will habve tons of fun with the 360 right now. Plus The show will be first year out on the Ps3...Tough decision though hehehhe..Good luck..I got rid of my 360 and regret it big time right now.

The 360 can do 1080P, but no games have took advantage of it yet, nor will they until probably next year.

I thought so too, but this was a false report before the game came out.

I really don't see the point of the 360 adding it since it's game frame rates chug at 720p anyway...

I don't know about chugging. Both systems have frame rate issues at the higher resolutions. The PS3's version of Call of Duty is a mess from all the reviews, that it never holds a firm frame rate.

Just wait to see how good MLB The Show is.

1. Madden, NCAA, and 2K games will be on both systems with the only differences being the bugs

2. Wait for MLB. Sony has had huge problems with transferring consoles. Gameday and Gamebreaker used to be the best football games, and then Sony completely ****ed them up. Wait to make sure they don't do it for MLB.

Man I am in the exact same boat. I have been flip-flopping back and forth for the longest time because I kept imagining what MLB could be like on the next generation machine. I loved MLB tremendously, so I just had to be patient. Well, then it happened: As a surprise, my wife bought me a 360 for Christmas (great, now I have the sentimental committment though I was still undecided, goes to show you that she doesn't pay attention to my gaming life) however my cool wife said it would be ok if I switched. Now I hadn't even taken the 360 out of the box yet, even with 4 games just itching to be played(College Hoops one of them, and I love playing college basketball), which is due to me finishing my fictitious college football tournament on the deuce.

So, yesterday, we went to the town in which we bought the system to return the 360, and possibly find a PS3. We found a PS3, but I chickened out and kept the 360, go figure. The PS3 has no games our right now that floats my boat. College Hoops doesn't come out until the middle of January and March Madness will not come out on the PS3. Plus 3 of my buddies recently bought 360s. So I guess right now I will make my wife happy, keep the 360, pray that 2k7 is a decent baseball game, maybe buy MLB for the deuce or the PSP, get through baseball, and then see how the whole thing plays out.

Above all of this really, and what helped me come to the final plan is an anger with Sony. I love my PS2, and was counting the days until getting the PS3, but the price tag, and the lack of games at launch makes me feel as if Sony could really care less about their American customers, arrogantly knowing that millions will buy the system regardless(is Sony and EA really part of the same evil empire? Just a thought). So I guess I am an Xbox guy for now. Didn't think it would turn out like this, sure hope it turns out well.

Right now I am playing God of War and Burnout on PS2 but I have played the Kameo (think thats how its spelled) game at the stores on 360, thought that was fun. I also enjoyed NCAA Football on 360 at the stores (although I think it has framerate issues).
