Rumor, Rare to bring KI to the 360

Remember this is just a rumor.

Rumor: Rare Bringing Killer Instinct to Xbox 360
    by Nelson Rodriguez

Dutch website Xbox360only.nl, ever the source of juicy rumors, is reporting that Microsoft's developer buddy Rare is working on an updated version of the creature-fest brawler Killer Instinct. The initial rumor comes from the UK game magazine Games TM, but there is no first party source cited.

Killer Instinct was little more than a Mortal Kombat clone, but it succeeded in bringing a more fun style to the genre. KI was also notable for making you feel like the Super Nintendo was actually bringing you arcade quality experiences. The developer made the SNES sing, and the character designs and special moves were a blast. I love MK's Subzero, but I always secretly preferred Glacius and his Terminator 2-style puddle move and spiked ice fists.

It would be nice to see a truly next-gen Killer Instinct push the limits of the technology.

Ahhh, the memories of getting owned by that damned raptor when I was kid. Man, fighting games of those days were not kind to kids who were around 7-8 years old. *looks dead at Mortal Kombat*

KI was awesome. I wonder how good the new game would be.

well at least they use their franchises unlike Sega, but you still would have to wonder how well they could do it. Rare has disappointed a little when they go back to redo a loved franchise.

I still believe Rare is a shell of it's former self, who has the benefit of owning some great franchises. The game on SNES was awesome.

KI was a good game. RARE even though they have been hit or miss, they usually have good games.

That would be awesome. I'm not a big fan of fighting games but killer instinct was by far my favourite. Those combos were insane!
