Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
Well have all heard about all the problems with the 360 overheating, 3 rings of death or whatever the heck else goes wrong with them. My question is, is the PS3 more stable, I have not heard about 1 problem with them so far. I would consider trading my 360w/ HD-DVD add on and my PSP in for a PS3, not for anything performance wise, but just to have a more stable system. I hate the fact that 360's are dying everywhere and I really like what MS has when it is working, but the fact that there are SOME many problems makes me wonder if it would just be better to go with the PS3, even though I would REALLY miss my GoW.

Yeah, mine died quickly. I've read of a few dying on the Playstation forums. Problem is, only like 10-15 people on OS even own the thing, so it's like 1 in 15 right now ratio on OS, which is pretty good.Comment

I think it might be a grass more greener thing with the PS3. I would hate for you to get a PS3 and then it dies on you. If you personally aren't having issues with your system be happy and enjoy your game.Comment

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
well I am on my second system right now, I thought it would be so bad if I could exchange mine for the one with the new chip and hopefully more reliable system. I have the EB warranty until Oct. of 07.

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
My PS3 has been flawless not one problem, no lockups, freezes it runs quiet and doesn't overheat. I've installed every update i'm on the third I believe, loss count. The fit and finish on the PS3 is much better IMO, It feels like it's not going to die any minute.
Most of the PS3 failures appear right out of the box or within a short time of usage.
For the record i'm still on my launch 360 which has been flawless as well. I can say the same for my Gamecube, PS2, PSP, DS and Xbox. I swear my systems must be coming from the Pope's Warehouse because I am on one mean lucky streak and i'm not complaining.

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
I can say with all honesty that in all my 16+ years of gaming I have never had a system die on me. I did exchange my 360 this morning after 6 mos of playing. The only problem I had with it was that the tray was constantly jamming. It ran flawless it was that I just got tired of tapping on the tray to get it to open. I was suprised that Wal Mart took it back with no receipt. Just called and told them that I lost my receipt and the Mgr. said bring it in. KNOCK ON WOOD!!! Brand new extremely quiet running system. Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
I don't quite understand the point of the post. If you are enjoying your 360 and you have it covered until late in '07, why would you ditch it for a PS3 that "may" be more stable? Like it has been said, there are less than half a million in circulation right now so, of course, there's going to be less ocurrences of systems breaking down. That's what warranties and product replacement plans are for, protect yourself so when of these consoles does break down, you're covered down the road.Comment

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
The point of the post is that it gets pretty annoying having to disconnect the system to go exchange it for a new one. Then having to chase one down because the closest EB/Gamestop is currently sold out. If a PS3 will last longer then I would be willing to change systems and pay a little extra.

my 360 freezes every once in a while... never had so many problems with a console in such a short time... but I love it so far... And as others have said, it seems the ps3 is the more stable of the systems.http://flotn.blogspot.com

It is really hard to tell right now how this will play out. If anything I would think about getting the new cpu version when it comes out. It would be a shame to miss out on Bioshock, Mass Effect and Halo 3, but I understand where you are coming from.DON'T PANICComment

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
I've got both systems. To put it this way.
When you put in a game to the 360 and play for an hour, you pull the game out and you swear it was trying to be baked since the game disc is so hot.
When you put a game in the PS3, after an hour you pull it out and it doesn't even fell warm.
Does that mean the PS3 won't crap out? No. BUT, it's nice to know it's not running hot as hell in the system.
When you look at message boards....
The 360 had deaths after the first week in Mass.
The PS3 thus far has had a couple units brick, but it's been right up front.
I think the PS3 will be the more stable of the two if you're comparing both pieces of hardware to each other right now. When the 360 gets the smaller cooler running chips in the spring, this could and SHOULD hopefully change.
As is, I'm none to happy with 2 seperate 360 systems in my house dying.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

Re: Is the PS3 more stable than the 360?
I have had the 360 since May (well I have had 2 since May) and I just got the PS3 yesterday. Maybe it's the PS3 is damn quiet that I don't worry about it breaking. The 360 is so loud that you hear every move the drive makes.Formerly Favre4vrComment
