Valve Teases Left 4 Dead DLC Reveal Soon, Simultaneous Xbox 360 Release
Solid details on the first batch of Left 4 Dead downloadable content should be out "shortly," according to Valve writer Chet Faliszek. But, in true Valve tradition, it appears the announcement has already been postponed, as it was expected "before Christmas."
Though details are light, Faliszek confirmed that the upcoming download will bring new scenarios, as "what we want to do is just deliver more content you can play at this point." Those new scenarios will be released on the "[Xbox] 360 at the same time as the PC," instead of receiving a later Xbox 360 release a la Valve's Team Fortress 2.
Owners of the PC version can also expect the long-promised SDK at some point, which should allow for the creation of custom maps, scenarios and other mods.
"We should be announcing that before Christmas, what the DLC is," said Faliszek in a Kotaku video podcast, seemingly recorded December 15. "The holidays aren't actually so much delaying it as the press guys--[marketing VP] Doug [Lombardi]'s been taking some time. We'll have an announcement shortly, I don't know exactly when."
As for a movie editor that would let users capture and edit in-game footage--something Valve apparently hinted at in an E3 interview--Faliszek merely noted that the team wants to make sure that playable content will be "the first out--after that, I hate to speculate."
While pricing was not discussed, the new content is expected to be free for PC owners, continuing in Valve's tradition of providing PC gamers with free post-release support. However, it is uncertain if the Xbox 360 DLC will be free, as Microsoft is apparently forcing Valve to charge for the upcoming Team Fortress 2 DLC on Xbox 360.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

My bro-in-law got me this for Christmas. Played a bit and like it so far. Haven't jumped into co-op too much yet, although I did play through one of the movies with a friend on Saturday. Also included with the upcoming DLC will be versus mode support for the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns.
Along with the "new stuff," the download will bring Versus support to the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns, a move that will finally allow players to experience all four of the game's campaigns in the competitive mode.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Nawwww man I love all my consoles, 360, PS3, PC. BUT I like first person shooters with a mouse/keyboard. OHHHHHHH but you know how I still come out on top. I get the DLC for FREE!!!!!!

just a quick message to those of you who have been sending me invites to play, only for me to ignore them: A lot of the time my gamertag is in use it's one of my roomates. I recently moved and almost as soon as we finished moving one my roomates was laid off. He enjoys games but particularly loves Left 4 Dead and is playing it constantly. Between the holidays and work stuff I personally haven't had much time to play games, at least during reasonable hours. I know Sandman and Slimkibbles are just a couple guys that I added to my friends list and have sent me invites only to be rejected so I apologize but that's likely my roommate playing and he doesn't like playing with people on my friends list. Just had to get that out there so you guys didn't think I was some ******* or anything.
In about a week or two things will slow down and I'll be able to be on more consistently, at which point I want to put together the finest OS zombie-slaying squad we can to beat No Mercy on expert. If I do nothing else is 2009, I want to beat No Mercy on expert.Lux y VeritasComment

This is a really good game, but I feel it'd be a heck of a lot more fun playing with people you know. It's pretty hard to play when you're surrounded by 12-year olds screaming (like girls) on the mic, or those who run around by themselves, leaving the group.
I won't be home until later tonight (6pm or so), but I'd be up for playing tonight with anyone who wants to give it a go. I'm not all that great, so be weary of that.

It's fun if you get a group you know, it's just more natural to communicate and work together. I feel weird being one of the only ones talking in a random game, so I don't usually talk unless I end up on a great talkative team.This is a really good game, but I feel it'd be a heck of a lot more fun playing with people you know. I've had a blast playing this game online. The other night I was with a group of friends and we must have tried to beat Ch. 5 of the movie that ends at the farmhouse at least two dozen times on advanced before we had to give up since it was 1 AM. We just couldn't pull it off. The randomness of when zombies show up is ridiculous. You can run into a tank or witch right away, in the middle, or not at all. Had a helluva time trying to defend the farmhouse and never could outlast the horde. I love the game but it is frustrating.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
