    Midwest/Eastern US GameFly Members

This mainly pertains to people in the Midwestern/Eastern side of the US that are currently Gamefly members, but anyone can throw their comments in.

I dropped off 2 games in the mail on Monday, and I was expecting to get my other 2 games today which they had said my games shipped either Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. I didn't get the games today and Monday there is no mail, so I'm guessing Tuesday.

Does it usually take this long for games to arrive?

Yep, of course i'm in Texas. If I ship a game on Monday, I'd be lucky to get the next one by the weekend. Normally get them the following monday. It's one of the reasons why I cancelled teh subscription. Can't wait til Blockbuster or Netflix gets in on video game rental. Gamefly needs a Midwest or East Coast distribution center.

My guess is that they were shipped on Thursday. So in that case you should have it on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.

You gotta know how to manipulate the GF system.

Also, you just cant drop the games off in any mailbox.

Its not all GF's fault, the postal system has a big part in it. USPS is suppose to scan the games but some dont, so then you have to wait for the game to actually get back to California.

He's right. If you live in an area where the USPS scans an item on it's way back to GameFly, they'll go ahead and send you your new games right away, instead of waiting to physically get them from you.

It makes all the difference, turnaround wise.

So should I take them in to the Post Office myself and have them scan the games in?

I cancelled my GAMEFLY because of their inferiority to a system like NETFLIX. When GAMEFLY opens up a distribution center in the Midwest, I'll rejoin. In fact, I've told them this directly when I pitched them on behalf of my company's distribution center.

They only have 1 Distribution Center in California correct?

That's my understanding and they are not currently looking at opening or expanding with 2nd party distribution houses.

                          Re: Midwest/Eastern US GameFly Members

I have a horrid experience with gamefly. I was getting games in 3-5 days and for some reason decided to re-join and very long story short it ranged from 3-7 days and I probably sent at least 1 e-mail about every 2 games I received/sent back. (they didn't get it after a week, I didn't get it after a week, wrong game, etc.)

Ironically the excuse was the postal service even though 3 times in a row the same exact day I complained about them not receiving the game back they magically got it. (more like a badly made system) Even more ironic this happened after cancelling and returning the games.

I would advise that if you live in the EST area to stay far away from Gamefly.

Go with Gameznflix. They have more distribution centers. So far, the turn around has been 2 days tops. Unless obivously they ship it on a Friday, then I wait 'till Monday because of no mail on Sunday.

Speaking of which, is there mail tomorrow? There better be, i'm waiting on Tony Hawk Project 8.

Anyway, candyman, try Gameznflix. Faster shipping and cheaper.

I also recommend GameZnFlix. They've got alot of distribution centers, I'm in Georgia. And I've recieved games from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida. Plus they're alot cheaper than GameFly.
