    Capcom Takes 360 by Storm

    Capcom Takes 360 by Storm
Lost Planet and Dead Rising are now million sellers.

January 17, 2007 - Today, Capcom announced that its two Xbox 360 opuses, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Dead Rising, have both sold over a million units worldwide. These remarkable sales place Capcom at the forefront of Japanese publishers currently producing games for the Xbox 360. Although the system may still be struggling in Japan, sales of these games certainly aren't. Following its December 21 Japanese launch and its subsequent European and North American launch on January 12, Lost Planet has already managed to ship one million units worldwide. Dead Rising has done the same since its release worldwide last summer.

Dead Rising is an action-horror game focusing on the horrifying tale of Frank West, a freelance photojournalist willing to risk everything in pursuit of the truth. After a zombie outbreak in the small Colorado town of Willamette, Frank seeks refuge in a local shopping mall only to have it overrun by the same zombies he had been trying to avoid. Frank must use anything and everything he can get his hands on to beat his way through the undead hordes as he struggles to unravel the mystery of their creation.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition takes advantage of the Xbox 360's power to deliver an intense single and multiplayer experience. Players find themselves thrust into the middle of an intergalactic conflict on an alien world filled with hostile creatures and blisteringly severe weather conditions. Players must traverse vast snowy fields either on foot or in armored Vital Suits, as they battle their way through an epic quest.

That's good news. I'm surprised Lost Planet sold 1M so fast when it took Dead Rising a while to hit that mark.

Hopefully this means more Capcom games to the 360.

There's rumours out there that Microsoft is buying Capcom. So expect all Capcom games for the 360 and nothing else.
I love this news as I'm a big fan of the Resident Evil series. I just wish they'd make RE:4 for the 360 already. It's the only one I've missed and from what I've heard and read it's the best one out of all of them.

The complete lack of anything else intresting being released in the past month had to have given Lost Planet a huge boost in sales, especially with so many people having holiday gift cards burning holes in their pockets.

That and an aggressive ad campaign. I've seen lost planet commercials on tv all over the place. Almost as many as i saw for gears.
