    Motocross Madness 3 on 360?

Has anyone heard if the powers that be plan to release a new Motocross Madness game for the 360? I don't understand why this wasn't a launch game for it to be quite honest considering it's one of the most successful PC games ever for Microsoft (Motocross Madness 2 was). The original developer for Motocross Madness 2 was Rainbow Studios and that game was probably one of the most fun and addictive games I've ever played, both online and offline.

I guess there is a MX vs ATV game based on this engine on the PS2 so that perhaps gives me some hope but I think the developer for that game was not Rainbow Studios but someone else.

Do you guys think Motocross Madness 3 would be a game you'd buy if they made it for the 360? Also, anyone know if they are making any Motocross type games that are online playable for the 360 anytime in the near future?

I've never played the game but it would be cool to have a Motocross game on the 360. I'll tell you a game I would love to see on the 360 is Microsoft's Monster Truck Madness.

Hell yeah, I agree, these sorts of games would be really fun to play online.

What was great about MM3 was that you had several games within a game. For example one weekend you could do indoor track type races online, then the next weekend do stunts online where you compete to have the most stunts in a set amount of time, then the following weekend you could play outdoor baja.

Not only were there a lot of game modes but add a dozen different tracks to that and a track designer and you've got a REALLY high replay value for a game. For the track editor that'd rawk if they'd allow people to exchange tracks they create, or if nothing else allow the host to use his own creation and when people join the game automatically downloads the track.

Using the above ideas, the game would have a lot of excellent replay value, not to mentioned the ability for Microsoft to allow us to download new tracks later built by the designers themselves.

It is quite possible that MM2 spent more time on my hard drive(on my old computer) than any other game I've ever owned-with maybe the exception of Quake 3 arena. If they made it for the 360-I'd be first in line to buy it. Providing they don't turn it into some dopey kiddie game. I never played online but I remember downloading a ton of tracks that came from a mod website........... Good times........... Wish I still had this one, lost it somewhere when I moved last year.

You know what, same here, MM2 was on my machine for literally years, actually it went from one PC to another, to another. The only other game to have that honor is Diablo 2 for me. I just can't believe that such a huge selling game would be ignored by them, or maybe it's not, but they just haven't released details. I remember when I first heard about the 360 I was just sure that one of their 1st party launch games would be MM2 and it wasn't, i was so disappointed.

You're right too that if they do bring it out it needs to have a good balance between sim & arcade, in how the bikes handle and feel. The bikes should have weight to them, not feel like some of the PS2 motocross games i've played where it just feels like you're on a bicycle instead of a motor bike. If they are going to go completely arcade then fine, but don't call it MM3.

I guess if they make the game it'll be Motocross Madness 4 because Motocross Madness 3 has already been made, albeit not by MS:

Wild, I didn't even know there was a MM3, but then since it appears it sucked maybe it's a good thing I didn't waste my $$$ on it.

I know MS (Peter Moore) commented not too long ago about not making another Midtown Madness, since they felt it wasn't something they felt needed attention.

I never played Monster Truck Madness, but Midtown Madness was fun for me. I also enjoyed Motorcross Madness.

Pick it up, i'm sure it's still great fun, heck I may end up picking it up when i get my PC out of the shop after thinking about it.

OH and I liked Midtown Madness too but that game was nowhere near as popular as MM2 was.

This is just a theory, but I'm starting to think that we'll be seeing less of the niche sports games in this generation. I keep reading about "rising production costs", and that has to factor into what games get made.

We were spoiled last generation with a bunch of SX/MX (and even ATV) titles. So far there has not been a 1 on the 360, PS3 or Wii. I'm betting this will be the trend. At some point I'm sure we'll get 1 or 2, but that will be about it.

Well I think the reason we haven't seen one for a while is back on the last-gen for a while there were a glut of Motocross/ATV titles to a point of market saturation. The genre is still quite popular but it just got too familiar for everyone I think. So there has been some quiet on this front but I believe that will change this summer. The genre is simply too popular to ignore completely. However I hope someone has the good common sense to come out with a somewhat sim/arcade title and not all of them are just arcade titles through and through.
