Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
I'm on my 3rd play through and still getting better. I was going to trade it in for Fable but now I might hold onto it. Sneaky developers...very sneaky...- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
A buddy of mine sold me his 360 copy a couple of weeks ago so he could buy the PSP version. He said in the PSP version you play as those guys and can fight against each other in a game type (something along those lines). So are they basically just giving us the same content as the PSP version except we pay extra? I probably will still buy it but I'm curious.Comment

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
How are the PSP and DS versions of the game? I have both systems, and would like to get this game for one of them.
I'd guess that PSP is more refined, but if the DS's stylus-based combat works well, then that makes up for the lack of graphical power.Currently Playing:

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
After finally finishing the game (put it down for a week or so), I don't know if I care about DLC characters, Darth Maul would be about it. Playing it again with the cool armor (yes, I'm evil and went to the Dark Side), the cut scenes are still normal Starkiller. LAME. I know it would be stupid to have Luke in the ship all of a sudden or what not, but still.
Not sure I want to even bother playing it through again, the Deatstar level at the start was one of the most annoying sections in videogame history. Another annoying part was pulling down the Star Destroyer, 10 minutes I wasted following the on screen instructions, until I realized how to do it, and the on screen stuff was USELESS.
Great game, had a blast playing through it, but it's going to Gamestop next week for the NBA games. I'll probably run through and pick up a few of the achievements I'm still missing besides the beat it on the hardest difficulty. I think that's 150 points or grab every Holocon which is 75, so I can get 775 I believe pretty quickly, already nearing 600, without doing the training or all the moves in game yet.Comment

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
This game was fun at times but way to many glitches and control issues detracted from what could have been a really good game.
I'm to old to get mad at video games and this game did "angry up the blood" quite a few times. I got one of the Jedi holocrons for a new skin three different times, saved the game finished the level and it would never save to my profile. Arrgh! Strangepork smash!
Good rental though.Comment

That Star Destroyer level, while it was cool with what Starkiller was able to do to it...............it felt like that level took forever. Starkiller has become one of my favorite Star Wars characters just off this game alone. The problem I have like EG is that no matter which skins you unlock, they will always look disjointed in the story mode.
If you start a Brand New game, do the stats come over or do you have to just hit Continue to play through the game all over again? I have been choosing continue.Comment

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
I read there are extra, exclusive levels in the PSP version, too. Is that correct? I think I'd get more replayability out of the game if I bought it for a portable system than my 360.Currently Playing:

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed (360/PS3)
What's interesting here is that though the game shares the same storyline, Force powers and general structure as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 titles (which were the versions most often highlighted in the title's push up to now, obviously), Krome handled the PS2, Wii and PSP games while LucasArts simply oversaw the production. So while you visit the same levels as in the other games, the level design itself is completely different, as are a number of other elements of the overall package. However, despite these practically ground-up differences, these versions share many of the same issues that their big brothers have.
While that's cool, the upgrade arc in the PS2 and PSP games isn't quite as robust as in the PS3 and 360 versions, which is a bit of a shame. You only have access to upgrading your Force powers (not including lightsaber crystals), with things like health bar increases relegated to finding orbs in the levels to do this for you. It's still nice to be able to upgrade your abilities, but it's not as fleshed out as in the other versions, and even just on its own, it doesn't seem quite as robust as it could be.The last bit worth mentioning here is with regards to the presentation. The cutscenes in the PS3 and 360 versions are rendered in realtime and do a great job to tell the tale. Characters have emotion, the pacing and cinematography is great, and everything is just put together quite well. Here, however, it doesn't hold up quite as nicely. The cutscenes are rendered in realtime, and, given the relatively poor processing power of the machine and low available memory, characters aren't animated nearly as well as its counterparts. The secret apprentice often appears stiff and without emotion, which hurts his story arc a fair bit. The game would have done much better to have simply shown the PS3 cutscenes as a rendered cinematic. Note that I'm not putting down the system based on its limited capabilities -- rather, I'm using the PS3 example to illustrate how well the story works when presented in its best form, which in this case should have been pre-rendered cutscenes.Comment
