$40+shipping to be able to play any NES or SNES game seemed reasonable to me(I contemplated getting a Wii instead, that may have been a smarter move, but I didn't need to spend that much right now).
The console is a gift for my girlfriend, which means I will get to play it as often as I want. I got Super Mario World and she also wants Donkey Kong Country which I will order online soon.
I've got a few questions....
1) Anybody else own this console? I'd never heard of it, I'm not expecting it to be the highest quality thing, but if it lasts a couple of years I'd be fine with it. I have the console(it came new, still in shrink wrap) and it played Super Mario World fine, so i guess it is off to a good start.
2) Any idea as to the best places to order SNES or NES games online? eBay is a little sketchy to me, most listings i have looked at don't comment on the condition of the game. I used half.com to get SMW, I'm wondering it there is anywhere cheaper? Most SNES games on half run about $10-$15 for "like new" quality.
3) The most important question: what games should I get? I had both an NES and SNES, but I can't remember too many games. DKC is a must and I will probably get Mario All-Stars as well, but I'm not sure what else.
Pretty neat system, it is crazy that Nintendo's patent on both consoles runs out, I would think invtenting a game console would make it theirs for good, but whatever. The FC Twin can't use the system names though, it plays "8-Bit" and "16-Bit" games rather than NES and SNES games, I thought that was funny. It is really amazing how great the SNES controller is 20 years later, simple yet effective and comfortable.
