Why the hell do you guys open up so damn many copies of brand new games? I went in to Gamestop today to buy 2k7 for 360, no pre-order. The two guys have four copies, of which three have already been opened. I ask for the unopened one, but that was for a pre-order pickup. I then take one of the opened ones (it DID just come in today) and get home and see that the disc has a scratch. It plays, but why the **** did they have to open THREE COPIES! One for the shelf box, I get it...but two more? One the day of release!

I feel like all opened games should be considered used.
I don't understand why the display copies can't still be wrapped up. Music stores have no problem displaying wrapped up CD's that have security tags inside. A place like EB should do the same when the game is considered new and not used.
I've never paid and never will pay full price for a game that was opened. -

I don't buy opened games for full price. I don't care about their BS reasons or policies.
I haven't bought a new game from a ebgames/gamestop in years. I did get doom 3 for the xbox there, and gave them hell until they gave me a mint condition disk.Comment

I'm going to return it tomorrow, but I wanted my baseball fix today, dammit! I've even had one chick try and belittle me when I asked for a sealed copy...something about "oh, do you like the new game smell"? No, I just want a brand new game that I'm dropping sixty bucks on to be untouched by grubby hands.

why not go to best buy, they have the games almost at the same time, and you don't have to deal with the crap like at ebgames. God forbid you even go into ebgames looking for deals on used games. They still sell old 360 for like 49 dollars...used

Agree 100%, I will never buy a gut copy. It's used, they use them in the systems they have on display and workers check them out. If I didn't have friends that hooked me up, I'd never shop there...ever.Comment

has anyone here ever bought the $3 insurance on games offered by ebgames? They always say 'if anything happens in the next year you can bring it back...you could even break it'...
I've taken advantage of it twice. One time my game froze a few times so i took it back and got my money back (minus the $3). The other time i got another new game in exchange.Comment

Well I just got back from exchanging my copy. Went in, same clerk, told him about the scratch on the disc (he looked befuddled "it wasn't PLAYED") and then promptly found four unopened copies and exchanged with no issues.
Seriously, after GRAW2 next week and 'Guitar Hero II' for 360, I think I'm done...at least with the store nearest to me.
