Re: ps2 question
I don't see any reason to hit the switch in the back every time you turn it off. I have heard people say that you can potentially cause harm to the PS2 by not shutting the back switch off, but I bought my PS2 the first day they released, and I have never had any problems. I always just leave it in standby mode.
The only time I would recommend turning the main power off is if you are not going to be playing it for an extended period of time (more than a few weeks) or if you actually move the system.Comment

Re: ps2 question
Well the manual says to ALWAYS turn it off by the red button, and if you aren't gonna use it for 6 hours, hit the switch afterwards. I've heard if you leave the game in and hit the switch, it can cause scratches in the disk since it stops quickly. But if it hasn't caused a problem yet than I guess maybe thats not trueOriginally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: ps2 question
I've had my PS2 since Day 1 (when they came out) and I never knew that I could turn it off without reaching around back to hit the switch."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell
