Re: Heavenly Sword
How do you swing the bad guys around with the chain, I did it once by accident but could not do it again. I wonder if thats a scripted move of some sort.Comment

Re: Heavenly Sword
I'm pretty sure it's circle. When your fighting you kind of build up energy or something, look at the health bar/circle thing, there's three circles. Once one is filled, pressing circle will perform like an automatic kill. The more circles you let fill up before using the move, the cooler the move is (I think that in the real game it'll probably be cooler plus take out more enemies).
You should check out the controls in the menu. There's several pages and it really helps you better enjoy the demo. My first time through I though it was too much of a button masher, but once I actually figured out how to change stances and some combos it was a lot more fun. Still way too short, but can't wait for the game to come out.Comment

well the ranged attack was the L1 and the Square button or Triangle button, and when i used that, she was swingin a chain around...
The X button was to pick up things, but the enemies never really gave you a chance to throw it back at them, lol
graphics were beautiful, it's much harder to fight compared to God of War 2, i thought it was quite easy to take out a group of crappy monsters in GoW2 on normal difficultyComment

Re: Heavenly Sword
It plays likes God of War meets Devil May Cry. It has a similar combat engine to GOW, but the style of DMC. The combo system feels deeper than the one in God of War and the game certainly has it's own "feel" that seperates it from the pack and makes it its own. I suppose the pessimists will still call it GOW with a female lead because her basic weapons are very similar to the chained blades featured by Krotos. I only played it once but I'll probably play it again to see if I can better pull off some of the combos they have listed and utilize the circle button more. I was able to pull off the chain whip around attack with it and also another attack where she jumps on a guy from behind and pincs them to the ground and either snapes their neck or stabs them, I can't recall. I also didn't use the sixaxis at all and I'm curious to see what it does (looks like from the controls menu it just rotates the camera or something during those special moves). A good demo though as it gives you just a taste and leaves you wanting more.Comment

Re: Heavenly Sword
I really like the fight mechanic.
You can block blue hits just by standing there if you try to move they will hit you. You can block orange hits by holding the power stance button so you have to pay attention to what kind of hit is coming at you.
You need to mix up your attacks as well if they are blocking your basic attacks quickly switch to power stance and you will break through their block.
So their seems to be quite a bit of strategy here. My first play through took about 5 minutes. As I got used to combat that went down to about 2 1/2. I was really kicking tail.XBL: Countach
