It's going on right now. You would think it has something to do with the Halo 3 Beta. They are preparing for massive downloads all at once so it's possible that may be a reason for the maintenance. I traded in my 360 so I'm just curious what features are and aren't available on Live during the update?

I just tried to sign in to Live and I guess it's totally down. Hopefully the Halo 3 Beta is coming soon.

why would we "have to think" it was for the halo 3 beta? They do this every few months.

Wish I was getting the Halo 3 beta. If you buy Crackdown you get it right? Maybe I'll buy it and then take it to Kinko's and have someone re shrink wrap it and take it back...lol just kidding.....kinda

you have to have the disk to actually play the beta

the bungie forums think that when it comes back online, the halo 3 beta will be available...

i give that a .00001% chance of being accurate, but i would welcome it.

Dunno,the message Microsoft sent me said the Maintenance would take 14 hours,but I have no idea when it started.

Yeh its almost an hour over when they said Live would be back up...and it isn't back up.

Xbox Live maintenance update

This season’s Xbox Live Maintenance is almost complete. The engineers have begun the final testing and preparation to bring the service back online. We have one outstanding issue before we can flip the switch, so that means that we’re not back yet. I’ll post another update when I have more details. I don’t have an exact time when the service will be back online, and I’ll post an update when I do.
