Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
I used the bottom frets for the Green Grass and High Tides solos, to avoid having to strum to get back into it. It was handy for the expert achievement.
The drums are a blast right now. Rolls are starting to come and my bass drum leg is finally starting to gain some endurance. Halfway through the Expert tour now.
NEAT DRUM TIP: If you go to practice mode, put on The Who song and turn it down to 50%, just play through the organ intro and you basically have an electric drum set to jam on. It takes two minutes to loop, then there is a brief ten seconds or so and you're looping again in "free play" mode. Fun stuff, especially if you have a friend with a keyboard, guitar or bass to jam with.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
My leg can finally take it now. I can play a few songs on Expert and not even be tired. Once I got used to that, it's been really fun.
I'm still having a tough time with Mississippi Queen. Just can't get past it. I also beat Epic about an hour ago. That song is pretty tough...Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
I bought it, but I am an easy mark for any DLC.
I am not a JP fan by any means, but I really enjoyed going through all the songs but one (I think).
But to me, it is really easy to get value out of DLC, so it was a no brainer for me.Comment

New DLC for this week:
Mother Hips
"Red Tandy"
Mother Hips
"Time Sick Son of a Grizzly"
Smashing Pumpkins
"Zero"
Definitely downloading Zero. Can't say the same about the other two.Comment

I'm always down for getting some Smashing Pumpkins. Don't know who the Mother Hips are though, LOL

Their song "Time We Had" is a bonus song on the game.
I'll be downloading Zero for sure. Good song.Comment

Has anyone tried the NYKO Frontman guitar?
I want an extra guitar but would like something similiar to the Rock Band guitar, which in the beginning I hated but now love.Proud Supporter Of...The Iowa HawkeyesThe Chicago BlackhawksThe New York YankeesThe Chicago CubsThe Chicago BullsMachester United FCComment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
I have the Nyko Frontman for the PS3. It is more like the GH guitars than the Rock Band one (which I'm happy about, but you might be disappointed in that). It works real good and it is nice having a guitar compatible for both GH and Rock Band.

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
Thanks. I see it has the buttons like GH but I think I can get over that. I liked the RB guitar because it felt better sliding my fingers over the buttons.
Is it a click strummer like GH or a stretchy one like Rock Band. I liked the Rock Band strummer but I feel the GH strummer was sturdier.Proud Supporter Of...The Iowa HawkeyesThe Chicago BlackhawksThe New York YankeesThe Chicago CubsThe Chicago BullsMachester United FCComment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
Anybody create real rock stars as characters in the game? I am planning on doing this. There's a guy who shows up as a random bandmate who looks a lot like Kurt Cobain. I'd also like to make a Layne Staley character since he's my favorite singer.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
I hope the next Rock Band allows you to create the look of your whole band rather than just who you are controlling. I would have loved to be able to create real bands and stuff in the game instead of random characters the computer selects for you to be in your band. It wouldn't be so bad if the character style didn't mix so much.

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
I have made a singer that looks like Paul McCartney, a guitarist that looks like Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, another guitarist that looks like Nigel Tufnel from Spinal Tap and a drummer that looks like Dude Lebowski. Just fun to mess around with.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines
