Following the events of the movie, Transformers: The Game is a third-person action shooter-flying-driving title that charts the beginnings of the epic struggle between the Autobots and Decepticons as they look for the Allspark, the manifestation of the Transformers' afterlife, cast down to earth from their home world of Cybertron. Splitting the game down the middle with separate campaigns for the Autobots and Decepticons, Transformers will offer an interesting sense of morality to the gameplay. For instance if you're an Autobot, it's probably not a good idea to go around destroying environments and killing the local population - beginning with opposition from the Police, players who continue to act erratically will increasingly face stronger forces including the US Military, and eventually Sector Seven - the secret Transformers police(!) We didn't get to see them during the demonstration, but at the very least they sound like the robotic equivalent of the Gestapo and the local Security Services...

Following our previous story, now come the details of the Transformers: The Game, Cybertron Edition, which will be sold exclusively at GameStop and EB Games and it is exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Based on Paramount Pictures upcoming feature film, Transformers: The Game lets gamers choose to play as either Autobots or Decepticons and experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favorite robots in disguise as they choose to protect or destroy Earth.

Players must master each character’s unique weapons, moves and instantaneous transformations that allow them to effortlessly switch between vehicle and robot mode, as they rampage fully destructible environments smashing everything they encounter and using all objects as weapons along with firepower to obliterate enemies.

Yeah, I expect it as well. I'm really enjoying the DS game, but it was $20 and it's a good quick play game. I don't know if $60 is going to be worth the 360 game. But it's me, so I'll still probably end up with it..LOL Is it in stores today?

Yup, and I think that the game will most likely be going back to the store after reading this. Hopefully some impressions come soon enough.
