    Re: Dreamcast found!

My wife and I moved into a new house in January. There is a good sized bonus room above the garage that the previous owners never used except for storage. They left some boxes in one of the closets and in one of them I found both a Dreamcast and a PSX. In addition, NFL2K1 was still in the Dreamcast!

The previous owners moved out of state and I have no idea how to reach them, so I have acquired two new systems!

I remember spending countless hours playing dreamcast games back in the day. Virtua tennis was too much fun.

I loved Power Stone and Soul Caliber along with all the 2K sports titles.

          Re: Dreamcast found!

I dug up my Dreamcast last night and ended up playing well into the night.

I'm talking Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, King of Fighters, and Project Justice.

I haven't been keeping up with fighting games and I think a lot of it has to do with the retirement of the Dreamcast.

            Re: Dreamcast found!

I still play my dreamcast regularly... from rapid air combos in MvC2 to the beautiful weapon fighting in soul calibur to the tradional RPG's in Grandia II (one of the best RPG's i've ever had the pleasure of playing) & Skies of Arcadia...

Honestly... and I don't know why, but i can't get this specific sound out of my head from that F1 racing game from the original dreamcast demo disc... so as a result, i'm going to go on amazon.com, find Flag to Flag CART and buy it

You should also look into finding Fighting Vipers & Guilty Gear X

Yeah it seems quality fighting games died with the Dreamcast. Especially 2-D fighters.

Pretty much anything made by Capcom is good, but one game that I don't think has been mentioned yet is Jo-Jo's Bizarre Adventure.

                  Re: Dreamcast found!

Definitely agree with all of you, the Dreamcast was definitely ahead of its time. I will never part with that system no matter how much is offered to me it was truly and still is a special console.

My all time favorite game Shenmue definitely needs to be completed. I was completely immersed with the first Shenmue. I must have played through that game about 20 times and each time I enjoyed it. There hasn't been a game since Shenmue that has been as immersive or as innovative. The game was truly ahead of its time and it's a shame that not enough people got into what I truly believe was the greatest videogame ever made.

You know what I take that back, to call Shenmue a videogame is an insult to me it was more like an experience. Once you allowed yourself to be truly immersed with that game you can't look at other games the same way. When I finally got a chance to play Shenmue 2 I played through the entire game in four days because I was completely addicted to it. The series is truly a work of art.

I have Yakuza but I haven't had a chance to play it yet since I've been so busy so I guess I need to start playing since a lot of Shenmue fans like that game as well.

Man, I wonder where my Dreamcast is. I remember it was completely jacked up, so I tried opening it up. I don't even know WHAT I did, but I moved something around, closed it up, and it worked.

NBA2k-2k2 were still the best basketball games I've ever played in my life.

                      Re: Dreamcast found!

I just busted out my Dreamcast the other day too!

This system was so great. So ahead of it's time. I remember back 7+ years ago and being completely blown away by the graphics. Graphically, the jump that system made and comparing it to other games of the time period was just jaw dropping. Today's "next gen" systems don't even compare.

For the last few days I have been playing Soul Calibur and loving it. I also recommend Shenmue, one of my favorite games of all time. The awesome graphics as well as the detail and freedom of that world was insane.

Question for you guys - it looks to me that Soul Calibur for Dreamcast is the only game to ever get a perfect 10 from IGN, is that true? And I never played Shenmue 2, did they ever settle the storyline?

Plus the great thing about the Dreamcast was that it allowed you to play burned games on CDR's or DVDR's forgot how big the games were. But if you were to try and find a game, just look it up on a torrent site or something and try and find it, saving you some money. This thread has got me back into my Dreamcast, lol, I have a good amount of games and just need to get the system back from a friend of mine.
