EDIT: Plus, for the sports games I own I can easily download the rosters, and with GHII I can simply play through the songs again...and stay atop the leaderboards
    No.

While yes you can re-download the games you've paid for, if you are not on Live or Live is down, those arcade games are no longer playable on your 360, as well, any silver accounts will not be able to play any arcade games you've paid for unless you've bought them under the silver account's name.

That does suck. Didn't you have a similar problem?

I hate when people refer to EB and Gamestop as rippoff. You have a choice to trade. If you don't like it then don't. Take your business somewhere else. Don't blame them for your dislike on what they are offering you in return. At the end of the day they are running a business, and they are in it to make money. As is the case with 99.99% of all businesses out there.
well ebgames/gamestop are like the Big Carl's Used Car Lot of gaming. Their prices are **** and they do rip you off according to market prices, but people go there anyways.

Fact is, you could get better money elsewhere. It's a shame they use their size to gouge people the way they do. $250 for a premium to trade into an elite is horrible. Might as well sell it on ebay, then go get one.

I actually wouldn't mind getting an elite if for any reason I'm afraid my launch system could get the rings of death. So far, I've have had a few freezes but other then that no problems.

If it ever does crash, will EB/GameStop take a "broke" 360?

I still have the one year replacement warranty on my 360. Think they'd allow me to replace it with the Elite if I happen to have to take it back?

No problem, it's frustrating when you paid for the games and then all of a sudden you can't anymore. Since my wife has a silver account like your's does, I thought you should know since you'll be pretty ticked off when she goes to play and can't any longer on the previous purchased games.

It's good to hear that Microsoft is making an attempted to help their customers. I just wish you could get more for the 360 pro but I guess it's better than nothing.

dook, yep. I traded in my dead 360 and controller for $190. i kept the hdd and just got a core. got a warranty with it and it cost me total about 285 w/tax.

still have a hdd and I'm not missing a beat

^ That's good to know. I'm just scared mine is going to die one day.

                      Thanks.

unless you're having problems I wouldn't worry. but if you got it from an eb buy another warranty from them.

if not you can always trade it in

That's a really good idea, because you have the warranty on the core now, and if you want to upgrade to the bigger HDD, you can and have no worries.

I may do that this summer...don't think I have a MS warranty anymore and my system seems like it is dying.
