that kinda sux..but then again why are you buying a nintendo system for sports games?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

A system should be strong at everything. Its sad that Nintendo has never been even average at sports games.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

It's not the system, it's the company's target market. With the exception of the NES (which had games for everyone), Nintendo has always targeted younger gamers. Instead of competing with other companies to make games like MGS, Splinter Cell, Halo, etc. Nintendo has their niche with games featuring the Mario characters and Zelda. Great games, just not aimed specifically for the gamer who wants a life-like experience.

Some games yes, some games no. Doesn't everyone talk about wanting realism in their sports games?

                    Take Splinter Cell and Mario

Sam Fisher is a man. He breathes, he walks, if he takes enough damage he dies.

Mairo is a man. He breathes, he walks, if takes enough damage he dies.

They're both escapes from reality because I'm not a covert operative for the government, and I've never seen a goomba or Yoshi walking down the street.

But which one would be considered a "realistic" experience?

All games are escapes from reality in some fashion. Mario and the Nintendo characters are just less life like than say Metal Gear or Splinter Cell types. In those your in real locations, fighting life like people, with life like guns. Mario you'd be fighting cartoony characters, with shells and water.

All excellent games, just the action games like MGS and SC appeal more towards older gamers who want that more realistic experience, where they could see themselves as the hero they are controlling.

Just a matter of preference I guess..

Metroid Prime is one of the greatest games ever created, and I wish more people could be able to play it.

Remember when Sega's games were exclusively released on their system.... From Genesis to Dreamcast... and all systems in between.... Man those were some of the greatest sports games of the time.... Now they're learning how to develop for other platforms and are almost right back where they once were...

.... I see a lot of similarities with Nintendo... :/
