    Game Recommendation?

I need a new non-sports game for either the Wii or 360, was wondering if anyone had any quick recommendations.

So far for the 360 I've played Gears, Ghost Recon 1, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Splinter Cell: DA, and Call of Duty 2 and 3. All I have for the Wii is Wii Sports.

I'd get Guitar Hero, but it seems impossible to find. If these were the only games you'd played for those two consoles, what would be next on your list?

If you like GTA-style violent games, Saints Row is great on 360.

If you like the quest-style fantasy-ish games for the Wii, you gotta get Zelda.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, I've never really been a fan of GTA, so I'm not sure Saint's Row would be my thing.

Obviously I'm looking for whatever will provide the best gaming experience generally, but I'd be particularly interested in something that I can pick up and play for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, if such a thing exists.

If you want a game that's different but fun try Viva Pinata. Just make sure you don't tell your friends or they'll give you the look.

Crackdown's a good game you can play in short bursts. It's sort of like GTA, but I wasn't a huge GTA fan and I really like Crackdown.

Oblivion is also great, but maybe not in 30 minute increments.

If you like driving games Test Drive is good game.

As for the Wii, the pickings are pretty slim. I've rented a bunch of games and nothing's really grabbed me (other than Zelda). I haven't played Paper Mario yet, but that's supposed to be pretty good.

I enjoyed Ninety Nine Nights for the 360 for just mindless fun. Lots of enemies on the screen at once... and it can get hectic.

Oblivion, and Condemned, as well as Dead Rising are all a lot of fun as well.

'Super Paper Mario' is a great game on the Wii. There are the eight worlds with four stages each, with some RPG-lite elements tossed in between the worlds. You can easily play for a little bit at a time (it saves after every stage is beat, so I play for a level or two).

Condemned is a game you can play 20 to 30 minutes at a time and still finish, its not too long and its a great game with awesome atmosphere especially if you've got a 5.1 setup.

Zelda and Paper Mario are must haves for the wii, but they are pretty much the only must haves right now imo.

Thanks for all the tips. It seems like Crackdown and Super Paper Mario might be my best bets.

Is Super Paper Mario basically in the same vein as all the old-skool side-scrolling Mario games (NES Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World 1, 2, and 3, etc.), except with updated graphics and that "flip the screen to 3D" novelty? Or are there other differences? The most recent Mario game that I played was Mario 64, never played any of the Cube or DS Mario Games.

I definitely want to get to Twilight Princess at some point, just not at the moment.

Dead Rising is also an awesome game, but you can't really play it for 20-30 minutes at a time because of the way the save system works.

yeah, the save system is really keeping me from getting into this game much.

It's most similar to the old NES and SNES Mario games, but there are some changes. First, there's no run button. You just go at a regular clip the whole time. You also don't hit blocks for items, you have to buy them in the hub town. You also have hit points as in most RPG's.

Like I said, it's a hybrid RPG/platformer. You run, jump, bop Goomba's etc., but you still have to collect items, go back and forth placing items on pedestals and talking to chaps as in a RPG.

Oh, and you also will be able to play as Peach and Bowser later on. While they can't do the 2D-3D flip, Peach floats and Bowswer breathes fire.
