Ziff just went through the whole review altering process, so it now relates to 1UP/EGM/GFW...As of I think 2 weeks ago. Maybe 3.

Yeah, I read in the latest EGM (I get it free from some online thing)...they're combining all their media (1UP/EGM/GFW), so EGM guys will be writing on 1UP, and vice versa. They're fighting with the review system in the same way that Shawn, Clay, Mark, and all the past higher ups at OS have.

Yea I really like how the whole 1UP network does its review duties. It's good because it's usually strong fair opinions which is really all you want. Their reviews sometimes cause some controversy as well which isn't really a bad thing as long as the text backs up the score and I'd say that nearly every time it does.

Anyway if you could just remove scores that's honestly the way I'd like it, but people are just too lazy, and when GFW (CGW at that time) tried it, a majority of readers were not happy about it. Either way I think the print magazines should try to do reviews in a new way since a lot of the time the Web will beat them to it by quite a bit, and plus I don't think you go to reviews in the same way anymore to get opinions on games. It especially makes sense for GFW and EGM because they have 1UP.com anyway.

I completely agree...the x/100 scoring system is just crazy. It's not like a math exam where there's specific points so you can be that in depth. The industry needs scores though, so hopefully a letter grade system would be better.

How do you feel about a avoid/rent/buy scale? Pop one of those at the end of the review instead of a 0-10 or A-F.

Back on topic....

Anyone else picking this up today? I only rented the first game when I got my 360 a year after release, but I liked it so much I think I'll purchase this one today...I just hope the atmosphere in this one is just as creepy.

It's tomorrow I believe, but I'll have it. The first one is still one of my fav 360 games to date.

As far as I've heard (one of the guys on our MaddenMania forums called Gamestop) is Wednesday.

Also, CAG has a Circuit City deal including the first game with the second one free of charge:

Good deal...I guess I might just order online either here or at Best Buy (free $10 gift card with purchase plus free shipping I discovered a few minutes ago) Best Buy

I'll probably do that since I don't have any real need to play the first game again.

I was told by gamestop that the PS3 version is delayed until next week but the 360 version will be available today or tomorrow.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is probably the best survival horror title we’ve seen this generation. The online multiplayer modes aren’t going to blow your mind, but they are a thoughtful addition. It’s got a higher level of action than its predecessor, and some gorgeous horror backdrops. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there is one moment in particular – where you find yourself alone in a deserted cabin suddenly running for your life – that will probably be one of the most memorable gaming moments of 2008. If you like survival horror, this is a no-brainer.
