Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix(Wii)

Oh yes, I'm starting a Harry Potter thread.

I am really excited about the possibilities the Wii version of this game holds. I've never played a HP game before and apparently they have all been pretty bad up to this point. But the new game seems to have a lot of potential. Casting spells with the WiiMote is about all the convincing I need to at least pay attention to the game. I hope EA actually pulls this off, it should be a chance for them and Nintendo to really show off the system and the control scheme in a non-party game. I'm not expecting another Twilight Princess, but this SHOULD be a very fun adventure game at the very least. I'm very interested in seeing how the final product turns out.

    Here's the trailer from IGN:

    Here's a recent hands-on preview:

It seems like the mood is 'cautious optimism' because you can never get too excited about a movie tie-in game, especially not from a "kids" movie like this.

My daughter is really excited about this game. She even sold a couple of DS games to get some money to put toward it. She loves the Harry Potter series. I'm aslo hoping that they can do some nice things with the Wii controller.

While the other HP games weren't game of the year material they were pretty cool. My youngest daughter loves them. It's the ONLY reason I still have a XBOX. Only 2 of the games are BC

You aren't making me feel better about the possible merits of this game by telling me your daughters love the games!

EA did some nice things with the Wii version of The Godfather, even if it did take them like 13 versions of the game to get it mostly right, so I'm hoping they do the WiiMote proud again. I'm not a big HP fan, I've watched the movies with my girlfriend but that's about it. I just hope that it is a fun game with some cool use of the control scheme. I can't think of too many movies better suited for the WiiMote than something containing magic wands and broomsticks.

She just likes Harry Potter in general. She has never even played any of the games, but she loves the Wii so she's excited about the game.
