If you have GH II, should you get GH I

Just wondering. I'm just about to get a PS2 donated to me. I really want a Guitar Hero game right off the bat. Best Buy has a deal where you get a $15 gift card if you buy GH I and II. I was thinking about it anyway, but this seems like a bonus. Is there any reason not to get both? I know II improves on I, but is I a good game on its own, at least enough to buy it separately? Thanks

I like I better. I think it has a better soundtrack. You should definitely get both, but I would check craigslist. PS2 Guitar Hero stuff is floating around pretty heavily.

GH1 has a great soundtrack. I think overall it is easier than GHII, but I think it has two of the hardest songs among both games in Cowboys from Hell and Bark at the Moon. Definitely recommend it.

I agree, GH1 is well worth it.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll be getting both.

I say get both, but play through the first game initially. GHII really improved the hammer ons and pull offs (peep the tutorials) and if you get used to them on the second game, playing the more difficult songs on GH1 gets MIGHTY frustrating.

I hope that Red Octane are re-evaluating the pricing structure for GH 1 stuff for 360 right now and that's why we've seen no more tracks.

I hope so, I haven't bought any of the GH II downloadable tracks because of that.

If you can swing it,definitely. The multi-player is better on II as you can co-op as well as face-off,and each player can select their own difficulty level.
Also, there is a full practice mode on GHII,and the ability to play the bass in multi-player.GHII also runs in progressive scan and GHI does not.
Gameplay wise, they are very similar and the addition of so many more tracks to your collection make GHI worth getting.
I got GHII first, and almost immediately went and grabbed GHI after that.
