If you have GH II, should you get GH I
Just wondering. I'm just about to get a PS2 donated to me. I really want a Guitar Hero game right off the bat. Best Buy has a deal where you get a $15 gift card if you buy GH I and II. I was thinking about it anyway, but this seems like a bonus. Is there any reason not to get both? I know II improves on I, but is I a good game on its own, at least enough to buy it separately? GH1 has a great soundtrack. I think overall it is easier than GHII, but I think it has two of the hardest songs among both games in Cowboys from Hell and Bark at the Moon. Definitely recommend it.

I say get both, but play through the first game initially. GHII really improved the hammer ons and pull offs (peep the tutorials) and if you get used to them on the second game, playing the more difficult songs on GH1 gets MIGHTY frustrating.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

Also,there is a full practice mode on GHII,and the ability to play the bass in multi-player.GHII also runs in progressive scan and GHI does not.
Gameplay wise,they are very similar and the addition of so many more tracks to your collection make GHI worth getting.
