Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3, Wii)
Hate to be the rain on the parade here, but even from the gameplay videos the animations look very stiff...like you have to wait for one animation to finish before starting the next. It's like a hesitation from one slash, then a very stiff transitional animation to a spin or something. I know it's just from preview videos, and I'll get my copy tomorrow from Gamefly, but it looks very awkward to me. A game like this, where it will sell a gazillion copies on looks alone, could fall into the trap of "make it as gorgeous as possible but take some hits in the control department". It looks like you could lose some fluidity and control due to all the eye candy.
I hope I'm wrong, though. Those preview videos just didn't sit well with me.Comment

Now remember, these are the same bozos that scored The Show low for the Ps3.
1Up Review: 5.8
While it certainly isn't the worst movie-licensed game out there, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End isn't exactly the best, either. Sure, it's cool that you'll find references to some of the more popular third-person action titles, such as Prince of Persia's balance-beam act and hand-over-hand wall crawling, but nothing in here screams innovation. In fact, if it weren't for Johhny Depp's humorous onscreen likeness and Disney's unmistakable pirate love (films, rides, memorabilia, etc.), At World's End would lie on the seabed right alongside Davy Jones' Locker.Comment

The case is nice...LOL
I still haven't even opened it. I think I'm going to though, the wife said she'd play it, since it's supposed to be pretty easy, we could have fun running through it.

It's ok I guess. Graphics look great. The fighting system is awful. 2 parry hits and then one final hit for every normal person you face (aka 95%. The sword duel fights are pretty cool I gotta say. Overall, it's a great looking game, but I'm getting bored with it. I'm glad I only rented it.

Some of you guys have WAY too much disposable income...pondering buying some crappy movie licensed game? Geez! Do what RockyTop did, rent the crapper, get your Gamerscore points (if it matters) and leave it at that.
