Xbox Dad of the Year: What A Bunch of Crap.
Has anyone read this? I'm not mad at the kid for nominating his father because I would've probably done the same thing in his place. But C'mon, how can they let him win? This is the ultimate case of the rich getting richer. I would've much rather this go to a father who had to bust his *** to be able to afford a 360 or something. Anything is better than this lol.

gotta agree. i'm sure he is a great dad, but...the military dad would've been my choice, he's still a dad, a gamer, and i'm sure doesn't have the dream setup to play on.Comment

I agree...some rich kid gets a free Xbox to go with his six HDTV's, and the huge projector. A load of **** any way you slice it.
I'm just happy that both my wife and my little sister entered me. It's nice reading their words. And hey, I thought I had a chance since I'm teaching my son to play games (a pic of him w/ 'Guitar Hero' in the pictures thread) AND a lot of you here have heard him chatting while I'm online, watching his pops for some future gaming tips!I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

They probably picked that guy because Microsoft wants other dads to emulate him because he bought tons of stuff (including Microsoft's) for his kids. I agree military dad should have won, but looking at the pic of the flat screen tvs, it's not as if he bought six 42+ inch plasma screens. Four out of six look like 17 or 19 inch pc lcds which can be had for sub 200$. Did any of those entries strike anyone else as completely sexist, particularly the one with the dad with the 4 hour commute. He gets home from work, sits on the couch, his wife brings him his dinner, and he proceeds to play video games for the rest of the evening. Hey, sign me up for that.Comment

That may have been the cheeziest hing I have read in a while. So much for helping out the needy, instead they just pile on more accolades to some little rich kid.
But in the end, its Microsofts prize so they can award it as they seem fit.
On a side note, last christmas we were helping out some poor families and they turned in a Christmas List. These were completed by the parents and not the kids....And they had Xbox 360 at the top of their list. These people needed winter coats and bedding, not electronics....My friend said, "These people aren't needy, their GREEDY" and left the project.
So I agree a military guy or hard working parent who has spent their money on the right stuff, like proper clothing, nutritious food, a dependable vehicle, but just can't find the means to spend money on a luxury like an Xbox, despite the fact they love video games.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
