    Mac Games

I hope this is in the correct forum...

I purchased a new Macbook this week and having been a PC user for the past ten years (after having been a Mac person before that) I'm wondering what is out there for games that run on Macs and where I can find them?

Edit - Also, I know the selection is extremely limited and usually released well after PC counterparts.

If you go to your Apple store, you'll find loads of games for Apples.

Also a little searching on Google will turn up some nice options for you.

Well good news for you as Apple and EA announced plans to release new Sports and EA type games for the Mac platform starting this year. If your looking for Mac type games try the following places:

      1) http://www.gogamer.com/index.htm
      2) http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...0&Go.y=0&Go=Go
      3) http://www.interactcd.com/cgi/Products.cgi
      4) All Blizzard games are written for both PC/Mac

Thanks Rodster. I might have to pull the trigger on Civ 4 or Warcraft or something. I didn't know EA was going to churn out some sports games for both platforms soon so that's something since I tend to think their PC stuff is superior.

Also, GamingChief, what is this "Google" thing you mention? Is it some kind of online engine that searches for data maybe by certain words or phrases. If so then it is a brilliant idea. I wonder if I could search for a website with a certain caliber of gamer, like a forum of sorts, and then ask its members if they have any specific recommendations based on experience.

            Re: Mac Games

If you just got a recent MacBook, fire up Boot Camp (may have to download from Apple). It allows you to run Windows on it and then all your old PC games (or new ones for that matter) can run on your Mac.

Also try Parallels....allows you to run Windows "inside" of OS X without having to reboot.

Just a thought......as this way an ENTIRE library of games is available to you instead of the tiny Mac library.

Shouldn't have expected any less from a Red Sox fan. P.S. I'm not a chief either.

Anywho, you want suggestions, here's one: If you're into strategy games, I know Civilization IV is made for Apples.

Basically any game on the 360 can be easy to port to Apples since they share the same processor the multicore PowerPC CPU!
