I don't think jmood88 was cutting down Heavy Rain.....

In any case after seeing all the relatively new games already in the used bin (Bioshock 2 etc) I cancelled the pre-order and will pick it up used the following week. I'll beat it and then take it back within 7 days and get $ back. Just don't see this as being a game I'd want to keep much after beating it.
Looks fun though and can't wait to play it.

Just got a call from my spot. They'll have it in about 30 min. I was so pumped for this game but, now that it's hear, I'm on the fence. I may wait until someone trades it in at GS and pick it up pre-owned. That way, if I don't like it I can trade it back within 7 days.

I went to my buddy's house yesterday and he had downloaded this demo. I played it in front of about 5 people. We were all in agreement that the game looked awesome and the way it lets you get involved with the controller is pretty sweet.

It appears to be something that I would have fun playing, but I don't know if it's $60 worth of fun yet. I'll just "GF" it and if I like it enough, I'll buy it from them.

+1 mine is on it's way to my doorstep. thanks to amazon I only paid ~$53 so if I don't like it I sell it on craigslist and lose $3.

I don't buy many games new.

I usually GameFly new releases that I'm on the fence with. I can choose to purchase it and they will send me the case & book. It seems a little easier then buying it then selling it to another individual through the internet.

why u would do that its beyond me. just by watching trailers u can tell what kind of game this is.

man i wish i had the money to get this. i want to support this game because i want them to make more of these type of games.

It's called vetting what you're buying. I have done it on nearly every new game that I don't know much about. Borderlands comes to mind as a game that I knew nearly nothing about but watched it a lot on JTV and bought it then. I even watched Uncharted a bit and that's heavily story driven...didn't ruin a thing for me and UC2 is one of my favorite games of all time now.

I'll just wait for Heavy Rain to drop in price...I'm not desperate to play it with The Show and BF coming out in a week. Plus, the voice acting has seemed absolutely terrible. No emotion at all, adn UC2 literally destroys Heavy Rain in that department.

Never said it was, I said that Mass Effect has done the whole "cinematic gaming" thing already. You said it yourself, this isn't the revolutionary game that it's being cracked up to be, which is what I was talking about. There isn't anything wrong with that but I don't know why people want to make this game out to be more than it is.

No offense Mood, your like the demons from the movie ghost, when someone gives credit to a PS3 title at all, there you come trying to drag it down in someway, I like ya mood but it's getting old.

Nah not really. There are two ps3-only games, this and Demon Souls, that I didn't sing praises about and other than me not being impressed there wasn't anything similar about the reasons for why I didn't like either of those games.

So what's the forecast for tonight?

I'm intrigued by this game, but it just shows up at an awful time what with the Show and FFXIII releasing within a few weeks (not to mention I'm still on Star Ocean). No way I can commit to getting it now, but I'll definitely be looking at it down the road.
