Sadly sports game into's seem to be a thing of the past. Here is my entry for the best sports game intro - NHL 99 ! This used to get me pumped for a game(just for one day!) What do you guys think is the best sports or non sports related game intro? Dig it up on youtube and post away..

The opening cut scene was pretty sweet too. I just like the title sequence...cinematic, great score, and it introduces everyone central to the plot.

My favorite part is at 2:33.

Yes, that's an incredible intro, and quite possibly my favorite non-sports game of all time.

Also, I always, always had to watch the Madden 2000 intro when I got ready to play.

I always thought that the NFL Gameday series from 989 Sports had some of the best pure football intro videos ever put on a game.

Unfortunately this is the only Intro I can find for the NFL Gameday series. The ones on PS1 (97,98,99) were the best. If anyone sees any others from the 97-2001 era please post them.

Let's see....

Considering most sports games of it's time didn't have intros at all, I think Tecmo Super Bowl's has to be mentioned - as much for the music as anything. And I also wanted to mention the ending too - It really made me feel like I earned something (even though it shows up anyway when a CPU team wins it all ) You don't get that feeling very often with today's sports games. I was looking for a video of the intro but couldn't find one.

Non-sports wise, I'm gonna go with FFVIII and FF XII. VIII's Liberi Fatali will probably be drilled into my head for eternity, and the scenes were great too. FFXII's....well, it was epic. Basically tells a large chunk of the backstory, introduces some characters, and shows off some very impressive CG at the same time. And I'm not posting this one because it's too long - sorry.

I loved the Madden 2000 and NHL 99 intros (had both of those games). This one isn't as cool, but it has a great song and it's one of my all-time favorite games.
