    Eternal Sonata Demo

Anyone as pumped as I am over the demo?....wow what a game.

Sure it looks like a blatant rip of Dragon Quest VIII but OMG is the game beautiful, the music is off the charts and it has great voice acting. The best part is the battle system where they are using what looks like the FFXII maybe a little modified.

I'm not big into RPG's but this one just went to a must buy for me.

How come the only enemies in the first area are onions and the only enemies in the forest are birds (only a slight exaggeration)? I would be more interested in this game if there wasn't this obvious lack of variety. JRPGs are repetitive enough.

I'm also not seeing any similarity between this battle system and FFXII. Seriously, I can't think of one thing they share in common. How are they similar? This battle system is more like Arc the Lad.

I mean...I'll still probably put 20+ hours into this game, but still...Based on the demo, it has problems.

It probably is as I don't play RPG's that much. The only ones I own are FFXII, Dragon Quest VIII, Star Ocean and Sudeki. I compared it to FFXII because you can move around before making your next attack. I do like the guard button though.

graphics are very clean, the music is very nice and so is the combat system (better than Blue Dragon's IMO).. i just don't know about the story yet

Oh, okay. That makes sense. You're right. It is most similar to FFXII out of those games then.

It will be the best Xbox 360 JRPG when it's released and the gameplay feels better than Blue Dragon, but I can't say that I like it. I don't want to fight the same monsters with the same attacks and weaknesses over and over again. If this is the cost of high-quality 3d graphics and animation, I would rather go back to the days of a static 2d side view ala Final Fantasy 4/6.

As far as RPGs go, I'm much more interested in Mass Effect and Persona 3.
