What 3 games to get?

Come the end of September, I am finally taking the plunge and getting the 360. We have been building a new house and repairing our old one for the better part of a year so I just stuck with the PS2 during that time.

I am also going to pick up 3 games with the 360. I have never played any 360 games, I have never even really seen it in action because I wanted to be blown away when I hook it up for the 1st time.

Anyway, from reading around, the games that sound the best to me are:
Bioshock
Halo 3
Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold
Tiger Woods 08
Gears of War
Oblivion
COD 2,3, & 4(Although that won't be out yet)
Guitar Hero

My other question is there any games that have gone down to 19.99 or 29.99 that are must haves?

I figure 3 games should last me until the new year.

Halo3 seems like the most obvious choice (or GOW) for shooters. Then, for a change of pace I'd go Tiger Woods 08 and Guitar Hero (because my friends list is either on that or Madden 24/7).

There are a ton of games on the way, most noteable for me being Mass Effect. The same team as KOTOR for xbox? IN!

If you really want the three games to last you to the end of the year, I'd make one of them Oblivion.

That may last the rest of your natural life.

If you like driving games and are looking for something cheaper, I'd pick up Test Drive. Very immersive and time consuming.

As for the others, downloading the demos via xbox live is a great way to see how a game will play and its helped me pick some games out in the past.

Bioshock - must buy for anyone who has even a mild interest in FPS type games.

Gears of War or Halo 3 - another FPS, but GOW was excellent, as I am sure Halo 3 will be.

Guitar Hero - good change of pace game

Bioshock: Simply put this is one of the best single player games I have ever played.

Gears/Halo3: I really liked gears, but I think i'll enjoy the Halo3 online better. You really can't go wrong with either though.

Oblivion: One of the best rpg's I've ever played. It will also last you a very long time plus there is a ton of downloadable content out now.

If you're in to racing games, Forza2 IMO is the best on the console and very fun online.

It's hard to pick just 3, there are so many good games out now and coming out in the next 3 to 4 months.

From that list, I would say BioShock and Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition, which comes with all the DLC content that has been released so far.

For third game, I would say Halo 3, but if you didn't enjoy the previous games, you probably won't enjoy this one. You may just want to wait to pick up the third game later in the year and decide between titles like Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Half-life 2: Orange Box, and Mercenaries 2.

I believe Condemned is like $20 now and it's one of the best single player experiences on the 360.

If you're into Marvel comics, MUA is gold....GOLD I tell ya'.

I'd say pick up Oblivion, Bioshock, and probably COD 4.

for the 3rd I would wait to October 10 and pick up NBA2k8.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am not limited to the games I listed, those just looked interesting. If there are any must plays, list them because I just want to play the best games. I enjoy any type of game as long as its good.

Must plays: Oblivion and Bioshock.

Great games for $20-30 or even less used: COD2, Burnout Revenge, GRAW, Test Drive Unlimited.
