I picked this up thanks to the awesome Best Buy (Canada) sale that was so awesome it spread to other stores, and I'm enjoying it way more than the demo led me to believe I would. Awesome game, and worth more than the $30 I paid for it.

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
This is giving Uncharted a run as my favorite PS3 game. There's a few other games (LBP, Burnout, COD4) that I'd also put up there for this generation, but Uncharted had been a cut above the rest until now. I've had this game and Red Faction rented and I've hardly touched Red Faction in days as I've gotten into the inFamous story.
When I was following the previews, I was fairly interested in checking the game out, but I wasn't over-hyped for it or anything. When I checked out the demo, it seemed cool but it wasn't meeting my expectations - I couldn't get into it like I hoped I would. Well, now that I'm playing the story from the start and really getting drawn into the characterrs and story... wow. I am absolutely loving this game. I can't get enough of it.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

This is one of the better games of 2009 so far imo. I have put in a good 40+ hours having completed the good side. I am now slowly working on the evil side. This title wasn't even on my radar.Comment

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Game of the year so far!
I finished it a couple weeks back (good story) and am looking forward to playing it again.
It's in the top three single player PS3 games with MGS4 and Uncharted.
And I think the story is really well done, unlike the opinions of the increasingly, off the mark Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation...Comment

Cole also sometimes doesn't do exactly what I want him to, but in all honesty, I think that's just because the controls are so fluid that the few missteps are more noticable.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Just wondering if anyone might be able to help me out. Started playing again today after not touching it for probably 2 months. Only have one last district to complete, it's in the historic district in front of the bridge. I can't get the little yellow mission icon to show up. I've tried everything, no pedestrians to revive and any time enemies appear I kill them but nothing happens. I have every single other one done and the only thing I have left to do in the game is get all the blast shards. Anyone know what the deal is with this last district do I have to get all the blast shards or what because that would be kind of a pain. Still over 100 to go I think.Comment

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
I beat the game on hard last night, that last battle took me over an hour and I only died 3 or 4 times. This was my second playthrough of the game, so things came a lot easier. It is very fun to play on the hardest difficulty, it's not impossible, you just have to be more careful with your strategy. I beat it this time on the evil side, it was good getting to see that side of the story.

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me out on this one. I received a free copy of Prototype(company/industry perk) and I was going to crack it open and start playing, but after reading about inFamous, I'm on the fence about which one to go with. I REALLY do not want, a flame war starting up, but I would really value your opinions. It's the reason I love OS b/c the majority of you guys are very honest about your thoughts on video games. So to those of you that have played both, PLEASE let me know which one in your opinion is the better of the two. In fairness, I'm going to post this over in the Prototype thread.
I'm looking for a game that HOPEFULLY has a fairly long story line and one that will keep me entertained for as long as possible. I'm not going to get both of these games, so I would love to get the right one for me. Thanks guys!
Oh and thank you Rudy for your thoughts man!

I can't give an educated opinion on Prototype since I never played it but inFamous was great and took me a long time. I'm more of a slow gamer but I swear that took me over 40 hours to beat just the good side. I never tried the dark side. 40 hours is a long time for me. Good story, some cool missions and you get obsessed with getting more powerful, finding blast shards and audio drops.
The strategy guide also gives a nice write-up on all the powers you have which are unique and can be good for different situations.Comment
