    Halo 2

There should be a manditory graemlin rule that you must put in after each time Halo 2 is mentioned.

hey, on the topic of the beautiful lighting and shadowing that Splinter Cell (XBOX) is getting so much acclaim for, my girlfriend's brother works for UbiSoft Montreal, and he was one of the main guys in charge of those specific aspects (lighting and shadowing) of developing the game. pretty cool eh?

nope, i haven't. but next time i see him i'll ask.

Somewhat off topic, all this XBOX talk has actually made me consider the possibility of starting to think about maybe picking up one of those damn machines. If i get the job i want when i graduate in May I should have a lot of loot floating around, so it may be a possibility.

"Q What graphical improvements are being made over the original Halo?
A Besides a pumped up bump-mapping system, Halo 2 will really shine due to the inclusion of a new advanced real-time lighting engine. Dramatic lighting and shadows will behave realistically and interact with characters and environments. We've also got a new subtle technique called "self shadowing" where every model in the game will cast shadows on itself as well as its surroundings. "

This isn't what I'm referring too although this is more official because It's from Bungie, I saw in an article that said how they are supposed to make a run at Splinter Cell in that catergory of graphics(I think halo had better graphics when It came to pretty much everything other then lighting, although the lighting in Splinter Cell sold the enviorment and was pretty stunning, can't imagine playing that game without those incredible effects) . Halo had the best sound, graphics, A.I., and Gameplay I've seen in recent years. This time around they have more then double the amount of time to work on the game, It's going to be crazy. Let's just hope this one gets out by next Christmas.

Re: Splinter Cell comparison (Xbox - PS2)

Splinter Cell was just an amazing game from top to bottom. One of the most immersive single-player games I've experienced (although Metroid Prime and Halo are equally awesome). But I also think it's unfair to judge a port (PS2) version to the original (XBox). After all, MGS 2 was a beautiful game as well.

As for Halo 2, the thought of Halo over XBL is...well, I try not to think about it so that I can remain a semi-functional member of society.

Splinter Cell is an all around great game. Sweet graphics, sound and gameplay. I can't wait what Halo 2 has to offer.

is this a x-box site? seems you people with x-boxes spend more time on this board then playing your game.i wonder why?are you still playing the same game been playing the past 6 months or are you waiting for a game to come out that was on the ps2 6 months ago?
