And isn't Nintendo going to announce a new console at E3 in order to recapture the hardcore gamers and offer what the PS3 and 360 offer? Mainly online play?
I am sure there is a certain segment of people that probably own both consoles, I have no idea how many, but I am sure the majority of people don't own both consoles. But that just proves my point even more. Why own a Wii if the majority of people only want to purchase games that have multiplayer? Obviously that is not the case. Not everyone or every game needs to have multiplayer.

Sort by threads on the non sport gaming site and look at the most active threads on this site. GTA IV and RDR (most conversation is about the Single player) Dragon Age (SP), Fallout 3 (SP), Oblivion (SP), Mass Effect 2 (SP), Heavy Rain (SP), and yes LA Noire (SP). Yes, there are multiplayer threads with lots of activity as well, but as you can see on a message board that is not representative of the entire gaming population, there is huge interest in games that have no multiplayer.

Actually, just look above in the non sports online gaming thread. See much activity there, not really...

I'm actually very happy that someone thought to put that option into the game. Once you get tired of driving around, it's awesome to be able to ride shotty then get to where you're going and not even have to think about it, lol.

In relation to the driving the huge size of the map almost works against this game imo.

I walk out of one location and need to drive to the next and I look at the map and see it's a thousand miles away on the other side of the map and all that driving will only hurt my performance because of damage etc so it's not even worth it. I just let the partner drive as you still hear the dialogue then it just cuts 10 minutes of mindless driving out of the game each case. The city itself looks awesome but the actual driving other than in car chases is a waste of time really imo.

I hope they allow the partner to drive and you to be able to read over the evidence / case notes in the next game.
I agree!!! This is my last post on it.

I will get back on track.

              Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)

I think MP has hurt the COD single player. MW1 was probably the last time I really enjoyed going through the single player campaign and it didn't just feel like a tutorial for the multi-player aspect. Generally, I think inclusion of mulit-player hinders single player in some way because its taking resources away from that part of the game. I really wish there were more platforming games for the Xbox, so that's why I have the Wii because they have some fun, entertaining single player games that Xbox doesn't really even attempt to go for.

And again, I don't see how an inclusion of multi-player would not take away from the single player of LA Noire. Much less why it needs it in the first place. Yeah, the map is awesome, but cops n robbers? Come on. Might as well just make a completely different game.

I concede. It's clear MP is really the downfall of modern gaming. It's completely ruined gaming as we know it. The innovation is gone, the movie like quaility of the story is gone. Screw you online gaming!!!!

Multiplayer hasn't hurt COD's single player campaign. It's clear they put a lot of time and effort into creating all those crazy moments. The thing that's hurt the single player is the fact that the story is just so insanely ridiculous at this point that it seems like a joke to most people. That and the fact that the gameplay has gotten stale, but you can say the exact same thing about the multiplayer.

When did I every say I want MP?

I was just saying dont **** on mp games in defending LA Noire. LA Noire multi-player would be a mess.

So what you're saying is that you never buy SP games yet, you end up buying a game that only has SP.

Lol that's funny because I just finished Black Caesar and I have a similar feel. I have it Gameflyed though so I'll just finish and send it back.

It's a fun game and I like that it's different. I'm fine with it not being GTA and all open worlded. I actually enjoyed Mafia II quite a bit and it's similiar.

However the game does get a little repetitive after awhile. I'm also feeling like unless you have solid hard evidence the questioning is a guessing game. Reading their facial expressiona and eye movements is meaningless as you move along. Truth and Doubt are complete crapshoots.

It's a solid rental, I knew going in it wasn't going to be the master piece that some others had built it out to be but I've enjoyed it. Solid 7.5 IMO.

Rockstar Table Tennis was kind of the same way. What it did, it did great, but there just wansn't much there to keep me coming back.

The ending just didn't do it for me and that will be the reason I will not spend any money on DLC and trade the game in while there is a good price for it.

Dangit...I'm just about to do The Black Ceaser now. I keep hearing the same thing. After Homicide the game really slows down.

Yesterday I did the DLC case, Slip of the Tongue, and I found it boring. I hope the Vice and Arson cases aren't a bore.

I will say I'm happy I finally have a reason to go to the upper 1/3 of the map now with Vice.
