So that's basically 36 hrs and 40 minutes of scripted action.

Early Review Gives ‘L.A. Noire’ Perfect Score
While we anticipate 'L.A. Noire' was going to be a much talked about title, one early review suggests it could be a game of the year contender.

Hmm a bit of a mixed bag.

The first 3 tracks are quite good (tho Billie Holliday's voice is drowned out quite a bit in "That Ole Devil called Love") then we get the masterpiece of the whole thing IMO with the remix of "Stone Cold Dead in the Market" by Louis Jordan and Ella Fitzgerald. That was just funky as the devil!

Things completely fall off after that though as the next two songs sound WAY too contemporary. I know these are remixes but they should at least invoke the feel of the Jazz age. The original song by Claudia Brucken is pretty good but she tries too hard for a Holliday style.

Things pick up again with the Main Theme which is the masterpiece of the original works. That composition is just so moody and fits with the overall feel that this game is going for. I kinda kept waiting for Frank Sinatra's voice to come booming out at some point though LOL. The song was quite evocative of Sinatra's "one for my baby (and one more for the road)". The last track was fairly good too and perfect for car chase sequences.

L.A. Noire: One Hell of a Town

L.A. Noire is based in 1940s Los Angeles. Unlike Rockstar's other open-world games, this city isn't a work of fiction. That's right, L.A. actually existed in 1947. But the city isn't a perfect recreation. The scale has been adjusted to fit the needs of the game's design and some areas have been altered to suit developer Team Bondi's artistic vision.

There are a number of historic locations in L.A. Noire. Places you'll go for cases or simply drive by as you're cruising the street, looking for crime. Team Bondi's eye for detail has capture the mood and the look of post-war Los Angeles.

What's the highest video game Metacritic score?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this game will beat it.

Appears to be a 98 for GTAIV. That'll be tough, I say it'll do it anyways.

Does anyone else think the graphics are life like on second, then sees something off with them the next? I almost want to say they're bland at parts, but they aren't... I don't know what it is. Maybe the lack of jaggies is throwing me off?

Also, 0:32-1:09 to Hey-Ba-Ba-Re-Bop would be really cool for a band to do at a football game.

Just called a late night spot and they confirmed they have it and have sold 3 already. I asked them to hold and they said that they couldn't but that not to worry that they have 12 in the case.

Wish me luck!!! Gonna head out in about 15 min. On a side note I have gotten games early in the past from them, so registers blocks are not an issue Might be a dry run but what the hell. The rush for an early score!!
