I predicted this awhile ago, but the average gamer is going to go into the store or see the commercials and see the Rockstar name. Pick up LA Noire, realize it's not GTA and then trade it back in.

Sales will be huge for May, but I see a much bigger drop off than Red Dead had and a higher trade in number.

On the other hand, this is exactly the type of game I've wanted for a long, long time, hell I started this thread 3 years ago.

The only bad thing for me is my lack of time to actually play the game

Yeah I can see that happening big time but I sure hope R* doesn't take that the wrong way and continues to expand on the brand name by branching out into things like this and hopefully keep Team Bondi within the family even though it's an independent company.


EDIT: Hm, just watched the IGN video review...Odd ending? Hm wonder just how odd and "unsatisfying" it is? Oh well...Guess i'll find out in a few weeks.

Oh man you were gung-ho for this game too. Did the disc swapping and DLC turn you off to the game?

I still plan to check it out, it looks very good, though trying to find 30-40 hours with Infamous 2 out in a few weeks will be tough.

Didn't sound like he soured in the game based on this quote. Just sounds like he predicted there would be mixed reviews.

Hey guys quick question....
I just got back from GS paying off my pre-order (can't wait till midnight),and of course I'm getting the "Naked City" bonus and the GS employee said that the card will be in the case....now my question is this....

Will this be something that will have to wait until the PS store is online? it sounds like it would be since it seems to be DLC,or am I misunderstanding this whole thing....it's not something that's already on the disc and just needs the dload code to unlock??

The code redemption feature is still down. So yea, I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait till that part of PSN comes back up.

anyway, from Gamespot......

By default, the game indicates that you're near something you can examine with chimes and controller vibration, but with this option turned on, investigations often boil down to just walking Phelps over every inch of an area, waiting for those indicators to go off. Turning these off makes investigation far more involving and encourages you to carefully study the environment looking for anything that might give you insight into the case. You still know when you've found everything important in a given location because the investigation music fades out, though if you like, you can also turn this indicator off.
