L.A. Noire is a bold release, because it defies the expectations not just for the type of game Rockstar usually releases, but also for the type of game that receives this degree of care and proficiency in its execution. The world already has enough open-world action games, but a game which marries that open world to such a methodical style of gameplay, with a budget this big, is a rare thing indeed.

I too am waiting for some gamers who are expecting this to be GTA, and then get pissed when they can't go running around and killing random civilians.

I havent been micro-following the game. So i have a question. Can phelps pick-up women ie sheppard in mass effect?

I hate IGN for these two lines.

The end of the homicide desk is refreshing, startling, different, and necessary to hold interest in what is generally a series of the same song and dance.

There's a confounding "twist" with three cases left that changes the focus of the story and left me scratching my head.

Now I'll be looking for the twist instead of being genuinely surprised when there is one.

yeah ur gonna have to wait until the PS store opens to get the case.

The code redemption feature is still down. So yea, I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait till that part of PSN comes back up.

Thanks guys...that's what I kinda figured,that's cool though as it sounds like there is plenty to do in the meantime.

me too Dayman, there was no need to mention those things.

@ SPTO. he didnt describe anything in detail but he basically told you what to expect during a certain part of the game. he could have said what he said in a different way.

he has been a a reviewer for a while. he should know better.

Hmmm, initial batch of reviews have me thinking that this one may be a rental. $60 seems to be a lot for 12-20 hours of gameplay with little to no replay value.

The only way you could have come to that conclusion after looking at the reviews is to not have actually read any of them.
