I've said this a thousand times before: I'd give most anything to see a console version of SWAT. I've loved the SWAT series like no other game.

That house map in SWAT 4 (Fairfield Residence, or something) is one of the most immersive maps I've played in an online game, it's just very cool. Until some guy with a pepperball gun holds you hostage for like 20 minutes. SWAT 4 would be a really good console game if they upgraded a few things here and there like physics and destructable environments.

GOW without a doubt. Any shooter without a cover system seems flawed to me now.....

To the OP: you should have included a vote to see the overall numbers for both.

Honestly, single player wise, I think both were quite overrated. Both were shallow and neither had a moment of "wow". But I had much higher expectations for Halo, so I'll go with Gears.

I like Gear's single player better, but I hate playing online.

Halo's has been fun in single/coop/ and online. Not superb but it's that game that a lot of people play and you can play with a lot of people you know online and personally. It's that middle game.


Plus you can save videos which has been another bonus of entertainment online. The videos i've seen are hilarious.

I hate to overhype it but i think cod4 is going to be the perfect game for me because it has all the elments I love in a FPS.

Halo 3 for sure. I still haven't quite understood the hate toward Halo 3's single player. Yeah, there were a couple annoying levels, but on the whole, it was a great, epic conclusion to the trilogy. I throroughly enjoyed the single player, and haven't even really gotten to dig into MP too much, and I won't be able to till I get my 360 back in a few weeks.

GOW, I just couldn't get into. It started off fun, but I just got bored of it after a while. Traded it in probably a week later. I never gave it too much of a chance, and I should pick it up again after all of these new games come out.

I think this will all be a moot point however once Mass Effect comes out. It probably won't sell as much as GOW and H3, but it looks to be the best game to come out in years IMO.

I really only play online and I didn't care for GOW online much at all. Halo 3 for me.
