I thought NCAA 08 was decent, but not the advancement I expect from a next-gen sports game. The only game I have been impressed with this year from them has been NHL.

I didn't buy Madden because it's an extremely STALE gameplaying experience, not because I bought COD4 and some of the other great games that have come out. I love the NFL as much as the next guy, if not more, but I'm not going to continue to buy a garbage game just to have it sit on my shelf collecting dust.
If EA/Tiburon made a true next gen football game worth my money, I'd buy it in a second. As it is, they're not getting any of my money, no matter if they reduce Madden to a bargain basement price.
Time > Money
I won't play a bad game if its free. I don't have the time. I play what I like. I'd spend $200 on the ultimate football game because I'd get my monies worth. If I played it for 100 hours and it was awesome, then $2/hour for an awesome experience is no problem. But I won't play a crappy game. No time for it. I have been playing NCAA football which is a crappy game in its own right, but just intrigues me enough to play it. I bought it on ebay for $30 and I'll get my monies worth. But I won't buy it next year if its just a roster update. I haven't bought Madden for Years and didn't buy Fight Night Round 3 or TW series because of the negative things I read in reviews. Out of sight out of mind.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

What I hate is when it's almost time for the game to be shipped David Ortiz and other producers be all over the internet but after they ship their crap you don't hear a peep from them, all that "this is the best game we put out to date and I think our fans will be pleased",crap seems fake.Comment

I agree with most of what has been written here. They even bungled what could have been a great hockey game this year in NHL 08 by not fixing the bug that gives you points for a loss when you're playing a season. A great opportunity to put out a great game and it's marred by a bug that was in the game 2 YEARS AGO!! I've pretty much sworn off of EA Sports. They can only pull the wool over peoples eyes for so long. It's no surprise the general public is finally getting sick of plunking down 60 dollars for what most times appears to be software that should still be in the beta stages of development. Unfortunately I don't see them ever doing what they really need to do..which is taking a year off from releasing some of these games and really developing a quality product. Appease the masses with a roster update next year and give us something worth our money! This is particularly true for Madden.Comment
