Joystiq
Instead of leaving it up to internet Matlocks, we asked Terminal Reality to comment on the controversy. A spokesperson for the developer told us, "For the record, the PS3 version [of Ghostbusters] is softer due to the 'quincunx' antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version. So you cannot directly compare a screen shot of one to the other unless you scale them properly. The PS3 does have less available RAM than the 360 – but we managed to squeeze 3 out of 4 textures as full size on the PS3."Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
I just watched the movies again before playing more. The Vigo painting changed back I guess. Is the museum the Gozer exhibit is in the same as the one in the 2nd movie?
Also the 2nd movie looked pretty good for being so old and movies themselves do a good job of holding up.Last edited by goh; 06-18-2009, 12:47 AM.Comment

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
Just bought this one on a wim, I love the movies and the game is fun as hell so far. The engine this game uses is pretty cool, I spent about a half hour just now just throwing random objects like chairs and desks around the hotel. It's too much fun.

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
Well I just beat this game so here are a few thoughts, I Dont read if you have not beat the game...
SpoilerIt seemed like they were trying too hard to capture Ghostbusters 1 by replaying the Parts from the Sedgewick, Library, and the Stay Puffed Marshmallow man. Its like this was the script for the second movie but they just threw in parts from Ghostbusters to appease the people who never saw the movie. Also notice there are only a few scenes that mention Ghostbusters 2, and the portrait of Vigo...
The Ending kind of pissed me off too, It was definitely a let down. No Scene of the Public Cheering the ghostbusters at the end, And the one thing that really ticked me off, Where was the original Ghostbusters Song? They only played two little clips of it. Personally If i directed this game, The Ghostbusters song appears 3 times. First for the opening credits, In the Middle when the game picks up, and right at the end when the ghostbusters are being cheered on by the crowd.
Couple other things that bothered me, Too many ghosts. Personally I would have liked the ghosts to be harder but fewer, Throwing down the trap and actually trapping the ghost didn't feel cool enough. In the movies, when they trapped the ghost, it was an accomplishment, trapping ghosts in the game was ho hum.
overall i enjoyed this as a game but it was not the ghostbusters experience I was hoping for.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

The story itself just felt way too familiar because of all the Ghostbusters rehash.Comment

I couldn't agree more. I thought the script was pretty bland, gameplay was way too repetitive, too many ghosts (should have been a bit more about hunting down a single ghost that wading through hordes of lesser ghosts), the latter stages especially felt monotonous.
The story itself just felt way too familiar because of all the Ghostbusters rehash.
The Audio could have used some work but mostly it was superb. As a video game it was very good but as a ghostbusters experience, it could have used a bit more time to make it more authentic. I know this game was supposed to be a movie but was shot down because it was determined to be too expensive, The whole experience just felt out of place in the ghostbusters world. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
I got stuck at one part in the old theatre, but I upgraded my proton pack and beat the part on the first try.
Has anybody tried the online play?

This game was a ton of fun for me. It was like reliving my childhood! =P
It isn't the longest game but, for me at least, the replay value is there. I've beat it on both the medium and hardest setting. Haven't done any online play yet though.Destiny...is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved -William Jennings BryanComment

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
I don't know if this bothered anyone else, but what is up with green slime?
Man, shouldn't the slime blower have pink slime? Really, this hurts me. Pink slime is far superior to green slime.
And how in the world do I change my flight suit?
What a great game though.I post the frog
