I am starting to get excited. While I love COD 4, I was playing last night and I was like "eh, I want something new" and I had not played this game for like 2 months.

No party system.

I fail to see why this hasn't been incorporated in every online shooter.

You can create a game and select a number of private slots that will be invite only. This time around you can invite friends to ranked matches too.

So that means I can join a ranked game, sit in the lobby, and invite somebody from my friend's list into that game? If so, I can deal with that. It's a start.

I know not everybody agrees, but the matchmaking system in Halo 3 with more options to choose what you want to play should be the standard. I don't have people online all the time that I can play with, so I'm really looking forward to stacked teams, spawn camping, getting booted, and playing the same damn map 80% of the time.

could not agree more. I find that playing the same maps over and over again, people always go to the same spots, annihilate the same choke points at the same time, etc., and it becomes stale. Casino was a fun level but my 25th round on it felt the same as the 100th round. That's what I like about matchmaking, forcing people to play every map you see different strategies and tactics all the time and it makes for a much more refreshing gameplay experience.

Paid it off yesterday (well girlfriend did for my birthday, March 21st!) and I will be off next week on Tuesday and Wednesday (spring break for my daughter). So I'll be around some in the day, but mostly late that afternoon and night.

Maybe you just played with friends who were hosting or you hosted games yourself, because almost everytime I played with strangers, we played on the Casino map.

Im prob pick it up on release date, mainly for multi-player...hopefully its big here on OS. I really didnt get into the first one, i only played single player.

If the first Vegas was any indication, I don't think you'll have a hard time finding OS'ers playing this game :wink:

Does anyone know if this game has the potential of being sold early much like some of the sports games with a specific street day?? Has anyone from OS found the game (Vegas 1) pre-release in the past??

I'm thinking about taking a little trip tomorrow to a Walmart about an hour away from me where I scored MLB08 early recently.
