I just got this game last week and I can't believe I waited this long.
I too was kinda bored and frustrated with the early levels. Then I got the lightsaber....
The game immediately got 200% better. There is nothing more fun than leaping thru the air, cutting off some dude's arm with the saber, then Force flinging his carcass down a bottomless Bespin air shaft.
I am really looking forward to when I can get that Force Grip and choke people, like Darth Vader, and throw them into a wall.
But of course I have to get back to single player as the past few days I have been fighting the bots in multiplayer. So much fun running around the Death Star or Carbon Freezing Chamber hacking away with my lightsaber.
Really give it a try to where you get the lightsaber. Especially if you are a Star Wars fan. Running around recreations of the movie settings is a childhood dream come true.
