Re: Do you guys actually finish games
Not finishing Bioshock is a sin.
But I usually only play online shooters and obviously sports games. My rule is only 1 single player "story" game at a time and usually only 1 online shooter at a time. I've broken my shooter rule this year though with COD4 and Halo3.
It's crazy how much time this stuff takes up. I'm sitting here now trying to decide if I wanna go play Bball (real life) or go home and play Bball (CH2k8) after work........RIP #21

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
I finish most of the games I buy. I usually wont buy more games than I have time for. Right now I'm overstocked with Orange Box, Mass Effect and COD4.
I'm about 1/4 through Half Life 2 and I just started Mass Effect. COD4 can wait, because I'm getting my fill of that on online.Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
I try for games that are really acclaimed for their single player, but if I buy a game that has great online play and just supposably an average storyline I won't even touch the single player and just play online.
I'm really trying hard to beat all of my recent purchases, I think I've done a good job going back to Halo 3, I beat Halo 3 the night I got it, picked up Assassins Creed and beat it within the first week I had it, currently working on Mass Effect. Got Guitar Hero 3 yesterday and will rotate that and Mass Effect for a while.
I want to get Bioshock eventually but haven't had a chance yet.
Of course a big help with Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, and Guitar Hero 3 is the fact I broke my ankle in the last week of October so I'm off work til atleast late December lol, that opened up a ton of free time for gaming!Favorite Teams:

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
Yeah if I buy a game I always finish it, except for Splinter Cell which I've just left alone for whatever reason.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
Man, I rarely finish any games I buy. I am currently still trying to finish Gun, KOTOR (haven't gotten off of the first planet), Jade Empire, Morrowind, Oblivion, Two Worlds, Conan. I play most of my sports games but I have yet to get through an entire season with NBA2K8 or APF 2K8. The only game I can honestly say that I have played thoroughly is college hoops 2K7.Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
I absolutely finish my games. Well, except for games that can't be finished, like sport games and something so huge and open ended as Oblivion (I did finish the main quest and a lot of the guild quests).
I only buy 1 or 2 story-based games at a time and play them until I finish them at least once. I make sure I only buy games that I'm really interested in and know I will finish. I hold off on buying too many games at once so I don't become overwhelmed. A positive outcome of doing this is that the games I want, I can generally get for cheaper by finding a used copy or the price dropped.
For example, so far, I played through Bioshock once and started a new game, play through Mass Effect once and am playing through again doing more side missions. I held off on COD4, AC, and Halo 3 for now. I'll eventually get them when I'm not focused on Mass Effect, have more time, and I'll likely get them cheaper for having waited.
I also don't buy games on release, play them for the buzz, and then shelf them or trade them in. I don't trade games anymore because it's a rip-off and I don't shelf games because, as I said, I only buy games I know I'll get a lot out of, not games that are the current buzz. I'm still playing some games I got at launch. I'm slowly replaying my way through COD2 on the hardest difficulty (probably willl never finish it again, but it's kind of fun to try). I still play PGR3, Condemned, etc.
I notice a lot of people get hyped up for a game, play it, declare it the best game ever, and then shelf it because another "best game ever" came out the following week. Repeat cycle.
There are simply far too many games coming out these days for me to even entertain the idea of keeping up. There's no real reason to try either. It's not like I couldn't go buy something like Halo 3, COD4, 6 months from now. It will still be available (and for less money).
Anyway, kind of went all around the subject, but, yeah, I finish my games.Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
I finish almost all of the games I buy. I have some on hiatus now (still need to complete Episode 1 & 2 of The Orange Box and beat GH III on Expert) but those will have to wait since I am now tackling Assassin's Creed, Uncharted and Rock Band.
The only game in recent memory that I did not beat and I don't plan on going back to is CoD3. I started playing the game on Hardened (like I have every COD before it) but its checkpoints are so far apart that is just feels cheap and is frustrating to play.Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
Really big games I do (Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed), but if the game doesn't hook me enough then my gaming ADD might kick in. Just depends what's out when usually. If I've got time to beat it, and nothing epic releases soon, then i'll usually beat it.
Mostly a game just has to have me wanting to beat it though. I wanted to see the end of Bioshock. I wanted to see what happens to Saren and Shepard in Mass Effect. That doesn't happen in all games.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
I guess I let them fizzle out since most I get off ebay cheaper than $60. I usually gamefly the newer stuff I'm not convinced into getting on the release day.Comment

Re: Do you guys actually finish games
So far since I've had my 360 i have only finished
COD2
COD3
Conan
Then I bought a PS3, but right COD4 multi is ruling my world. I've had the game since it released and have not even sniffed the single player. So far these are the games I have waiting for me.
Skate (still in the plastic)
Tiger Woods 08 (still in the plastic)
Resistance of Man (still in the plastic)
Blazing Angels 2 (still in the plastic)
Stranglehold (still in the plastic)
Ace Combat 6 (still in the plastic)
Kane and Lynch (bought used so no plastic)
Gears of War (still in the plastic)
Marvel Alliance (started)
Forza 2 (started)
NBA 2k8 (started)
College 2k8 (still in the plastic)
Rainbow 6 Vegas (still in the plastic)
GRAW (still in the plastic)
Heavenly Sword (still in the plastic)
MLB the Show (played once)
Plus I traded in Halo 3 Limited (opened but never played), and Dirt (played once) because I figured I would never get back to them.
Yeah...I got problems.Comment
