No one is on right now to play, I will jump on in like 20 minutes though and try again to see if people are on.

Still, all the sniper rifles with a scope on them are exactly the same in damage and range, no matter what the weapon select screen says. The only thing different about the different sniper rifle are rate of fire and look/iron sights.

they said the same thing about the snipers in cod4, but it's simply not true in practice. I think they are all the same until the distance is increased. w/o stopping power the m40a3 was a kill with a hit the the center of the chest while the m21 wasn't at distance. Those stats don't add up to the experience...I snipe 90% of the time, so it's not placeabo(sp?) There is some degree of performance variation at distance imo. I'm sure it's the same way in this game too.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

These numbers were taken from the code from the PC version of the game. It's all true. If you don't one shot them in the chest, then you either a) hit them in the arm instead of the chest, or b) they had juggernaut on. Also, obviously you're not going to one shot through last stand either, it will put them down and then it will take another shot to kill them. The M1 Garand has the same damage as the snipers also, but has weaker modifiers. But all the numbers in that chart and the COD4 charts were crunched from the PC version's coding and it's hard to imagine that they would lie. It's not numerical error.Last edited by DakkoN; 12-19-2008, 01:34 PM.Comment

The data from COD4's PC version didn't say the same thing, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from. The charts that I seen showed that all the snipers were different.

My sniper set up does not have stopping power in cod5, and I can say that picking up the final sniper from a dead guy, it felt more effective than the springfield ...but I haven't logged the hours yet to say anything definitive. I have however played something like a total of 11 days on cod4, so I'm confident in my observations regardless of what these charts say. BTW those charts go to 50meter distance....are we to assume the same numbers at 100m or 200m?
I'm not trying to argue the cod5 comment, but the same thing was said for cod4 and it simply isn't true, which is obvious if you played it as much as I have.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment
