And you didn't cancel into the ultra because?

They actually put out an action game called Cannon Spike where Cammy is playable.

Because the D-pad on the stock 360 controller sucks. I wanted to do the ultra, but I got CS.

Just opened up the package from gamestop and it looks like someone Shoryuken'd the disc case...the corner of it is broken. Looks like the disc works fine, though....

Remind me to never order ground shipping for a video game again....

Right but you still should've been able to cancel into the ultra from the CS. I'll go try it. Hmm guess not,was sure you could. Oh it was the knuckle thing. If you hit them in the corner with the knuckle move you can follow it with a CS or ultra cause they have nowhere to fall but the ultra only hits once. Still think I did the CS to ultra before but I can't do it again so maybe not.

the amount of Kens online is getting annoying. Decided to play a bit tonight online and the first five guys were all Kens. I don't hate fighting against Ken by any means but I'd like some variety. I especially love the Ken newbs who think they can hadoken me enough and try and bait me into a shoryuken. Abel handles that **** like it's nothing.

another thing that annoys me is when you play some dude multiple times and he picks the same character over and over again. Obviously a different situation when I'm playing somebody I know like when Mo and I went toe to toe with Cammy and Abel 10 times straight. But in player match I think you should mix it up. if you're that hardcore about winning that you're going to roll with your main the entire time, why even mess with player matches? I don't know, I just see it as people thinking they can up their win percentage hoping to catch more newbs in player matches than ranked and that annoys me as well.

random things:

-10 days ago my win percentage was 30.6. Now it is 45.6. That's out of a total of 237 matches played. Proof that improvement in this game comes in small steps.

-not only did I play a guy who used Dhalsim earlier, I played him 10 times in a row. I went 7-3 with wins as Abel, Cammy, Blanka, Guile, Bison, Ryu and Rose and losses as Rufus, C. Viper and Fei Long. The guy had some interesting stuff with Dhalsim but it was just so refreshing to see somebody use him. I realize this goes against my complaint in the second paragraph but this is Dhalsim we're talking about!

-I got the achievement for 100 online wins with an ultra combo K.O. against some dude using Ken. The guy was pretty good too, I suppose he just hadn't seen enough Abel. Felt good to get that win.

Great post sportsdude I agree with every point you made there. I only play player matches at the moment and unless i'm trying to beat a friend I like mixing it up as much as possible and find it funny that people will use Zangief 12 times in a row while i am constantly changing characters.

My only question is how the hell do you manage to win with Abel, i can't win a thing with that guy!

Being a relative newb to SF i really find it hard to use anyone who doesn't have a decent projectile attack in their arsenal (Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Guile etc). While i do still suck at this game it is fun seeing the slow, gradual improvements and makes it quite rewarding when you do finally pull off a sweet move or combo.

You can cancel out of CS but that's not the point. I FACDb'd to set up an ultra, but got a CS. I wasn't expecting a CS, I was expecting an ultra, therefore I couldn't cancel the CS. I'm not on that level yet where I can cancel out of a move without knowing I'm going to cancel out of it before I do it. That takes insanely quick reactions.

well Abel's got a special move called the Marseille roll, which he rolls on the ground toward the opponent (the length of the move is determined by the kick button you use with it. LK=short distance, MK=mid, HK=long). The roll goes under every projectile in the game so I roll under the projectile and the enemy is wide open for an attack. I can go leg sweep, Change of Direction combo, command throw or whatever I feel like.

People have this misconception about Abel that since he's strong up close, slow and without a projectile that they can fight him from across the level. But between the Marseille roll and the EX wheel kick I can close distance with ease against most opponents. Once I get up close, guys tend to panic because Abel is so strong up close. They'll try to throw me, which I parry away, or they'll try to shoryuken me, which I block and that leaves them wide open for an attack. Abel really is more versatile than people think.

Cool man thatnks for the tips, i'll have to work him into my rotation. I love his moves up close and his throws are deadly but i just found it difficult to get near any of the fireball happy Ken and Ryu's.

When I ordered Soul Calibur 4 on ebay I had the same problem.
