    Ps2 cleaning...

Alright, well, first post, yay but anyway. My PS2 is a year old, got it last Christmas actually so alittle over a year. Yea, I tried cleaning for the first time to prep for Xenosaga and what not but when I put in the DVD lens cleaning disc it wouldn't read it, error. I was thinking about using canned air (Little small hose, releases lots of air, put it in where the disc goes, etc.) Is that safe? And what are other alternatives?
Thanks to anyone who bothers to care.

I used a lense cleaner a few days ago. My ps2 wouldn't read it, but then I turned it vertically and it did read it. Try that.

I actually always have my PS2 vertical... I tried it 3 times like that, 3 times on horizontal and once upside-down. Maybe I should keep trying more than that, or not. Who knows.

Oh oh well. Compressed air will probably help, but its just gonna blow the dust around. Eventually it will probably find its way back to the lense. You could still use it though. Also do you ever vaccum the vents? You should try that.

yea I have, I was thinking about vaccuming through the vents while I use compressed air. Vaccuming doesn't help much, Maybe it decreased my game loading time by a second or two but otherwise no. I'd get a new PS2 or send it off to be cleaned spotless but I dont have so much money, or time for that matter.
I found these instructions online about opening up the PS2 and cleaning it yourself with alcohol and what not. Maybe I should try that...
