I ordered COD4 from online from BB. There is no way I am going to try and go to any store today or tomorrow.

Picked up AC for 37. Man, this game is awesome!

Oh, and I think AC sucks.
Still think ME should have GOTY, IMO. Think COD4 Should have online game of the year, didn't really enjoy the single play. Bioshock should win reamped(by that i mean it was something different that many companies didn't try) shooter of the year.

I didn't think that it was GOTY material. The single player was good, but the respawning AI drove me nuts as did the AI that instantly knew where you were before they saw you or you fired a shot at them. It drove me absolutely wild. It was a great story and some of the levels were great, don't get me wrong, but those two things really bothered me for some reason. The multiplayer is really fun as well. All and all the game is worth $60, and is a no brainer at $38, but I thought Bioshock was much better and more fun despite it lacking a multiplayer aspect to it.

7 hour SP campaign just doesn't cut it for me. Not for $60.

            Was a good rental though!

Others can say no online play doesn't cut it for them. Argument can go on to no end.

THey can, and Sully did. To each his own. I'm from the old school I guess. I don't buy games that rely on the online aspect as the sell. To me that's lazy. Online should be in addition to the SP if you're charging full price. And unless you got good guys to play with consistently (which I do), then it's a crap shoot on the quality of the online experience.

To me having uber short SP and counting on online doesn't make it worth my money. You have both? Then yeah, I'm on board. But when I jump online I don't always have 15 people from my friends list waiting to play with me that exact game. So it's hit or miss.

A great SP experience is always there when I want it. And when you work full time and have kids, that's more important to me.

A great online game with a full room of good players is always superior, I won't even argue with that. However, that can sometimes only happen a few nights out of many during the lifetime of the game.

Playing Rainbow 6 online with the guys here is better than anything I did in Mass Effect. But that was an unprecedented run where we had 20 people ready to rock EVERY night. That's the exception though, not the rule.

I look at SP first than at MP as a supplement to the entire package. If a game has a superior SP, then I feel that I did get my money's worth.............but as an example, SDvR. I really don't care for SP the more that I play the game, but with MP with the guys here on OS its actually made the game well worth and fun to play. I guess that contradicts my original sentence, but I'm always looking at the SP exp first and then the MP.

Personally, I thought Call of Duty 4 had one of the better single player experiences I've played in a long, long, long time. The story ruled, I felt actual emotion in it, and it totally sucked me in like a movie.

Nothing has rivaled it for me storyline wise.

It was the best FPS storyline I've seen in a long time...I kinda consider Bioshock outside of pure FPS, but I do think that sucked me in too (and was a longer game).

I think the other hand would be Halo (for me). The single player mode doesn't have me caring at all. I just can't get into that game (and the multiplayer environment just isn't for me, I prefer the COD4 crowd personally). One of the most overhyped games ever IMO.

I'm in the middle of Uncharted, and have played through Mass Effect. I think a stellar plot is what I look for in a SP game. If a game can suck me in, make me care about what is happening, then it's such an amazing experience. I really enjoy multiplayer games, but that aspect of a game (while fun and worth putting hours and hours into), it's just not as engaging.

IMO they're two different types of experiences and it's tough to compare. I think I put more stock in the epic aspect of SP, but I also like MP and teamwork....

I ordered CoD4 yesterday for my birthday. I wasn't going to get it, but with the price drop it was too good to pass up. Also, with a stupid early February birthday, there's nothing worthwhile to get.

Picked up COD 4 and Assassin's Creed for $71 at Best Buy earlier today. They were both $37.99 and I used a $10 gift cert...not bad at all.

Thanks for the heads up. My wife got her sister to bless me with Assassin's Creed for the 37.99. I'm going to see if I can pick up COD 4 when I get home or after the holidays. Hopefully it'll still be in the store and I can use a few gift certificates to make it more affordable. Man, this 360 is ruling me........
